While the released Gitmo terrorists might be doing their best Beach Boy impressions, the locals are not happy. But hey, all that matters is that Obama is happy.

Chinese Muslims trigger public backlash in Palau By TOMOKO HOSAKA

KOROR, Palau (AP) — The tiny Pacific nation of Palau's decision to allow 13 Chinese Muslims from the Guantanamo Bay prison camp to resettle there has sparked anger among islanders who fear for the safety of the tranquil tourist haven.

Hey Palau, hows that hope & change working out fer ya?

At least the locals there can take their 13 terrorists out "fishing".

We'll be bankrolling the ones they settle here, at least until they decide to kill a bunch of us.

Someone of Fox News commented that obama was “paying” (bribing?) the government of Palau to the tune of $200 million in “aid” to tke these terrorists...?!

Toribiong has denied the move was influenced by any massive aid package from Washington,

This guy must think his constituency is smoking their toribongs if he expects them to believe that the $200,000,000 check Obama is sending along with the terrorists had nothing to do with the decision.

I wonder how much of that cash is going to fall into his hands personally - or was his payoff on the side?

These Uighurs may have been in Gitmo, but they are not terrorists. They were cleared of that charge by the Bush Administration and the courts last year. They were picked up in Pakistan, and never near any “battlefield” of the Iraq or Afghan Wars. Musharraf and local Pakistani warlords had their own political reasons for wanting to get rid of these guys and came up with scary charges that had exactly ZERO evidence.

They’d be welcome by me to live in my neighborhood but the Obama Administration won’t let them in the US because of our own political considerations.

Sooner or later the US will probably admit that not all the people we held in Gitmo were terrorists, or terrorist sympathizers, or even a threat. Or is it impossible for us to admit we are humans and make mistakes?

In a way, this is President GW Bush’s fault. Once Obama won the election, President Bush could have solved this problem by executing all the Gitmo inmates before he left office.

Aren’t we spending $200 mill a year to help the locals keep just these guys? What’s the total operating budget for Gitmo for one year?

we as individuals do not have to admit making mistakes, The One has taken on that task and is more than apologizing for our collective faults.
it is already being done.

Too bad we don’t have opposition party in this country. If we had, it would make a lot of noise. In effect, this is sad episode:
- Obama paid $200 for tiny island nation to take foreign militants/terrorists (should demand congressional investigations how much was paid)
- Obama did not consult UK (which is responsible for the foreign and security policy for Bermuda (or was it palau). This is “uni-lateral” policy and insulting and angering our allies
...

$200 million is a small price for the opportunity to make liberals feel good about themselves vis-a-vis showing Bush/America to be bad.

These Chinese are their poster boys.

Obama as usual is using bribery w/OUR money to get what HE wants.

This resident of Palau says it all for the future of the small island which depends on tourists for its survival:

"I'm also afraid this news is going to scare the tourists who plan to come to Palau." Count on it, pal.

What a stupid pile of crap. The Bush administration released hundreds of detainees. Maybe you need some sort of written apology and an admission of wrong-doing.

Musharraf was under attack from every side and he was our primary ally in the region during the months after 9/11. It's not much of a stretch to assume that people trained at an al qaeda training camp didn't just get lost on their vacation.

Exactly, but $200M is not pocket change to voters. GOP should highlight this: US taxpayers are handing out $200M to be spent housing few terrorist in some remote paradise island. This is the Change Obama brought..

A lot of campaign ad potential..

Yea, lets bring in some more Islamists....good thinking. They admitted to attending terrorist training camps. They are terrorists. The Uighurs of China are trying to create their own Islamic state within China. That makes them an enemy of the free world.

Besides all of this they must have a grduge against the USA now. Thankfully you do not run this country.

(T)hey are not terrorists.

Who says? The Bush Administration arrested them as terrorists and sent them to Gitmo. Now, the Obama administration says they are innocent.

As far as I’m concerned, if they were arrested as terrorists (especially by Pres Bush), then they are terrorists. It’s very convenient for Obama to say they are innocent. It’s just his way of letting all the terrorists go free so they can attack America again.

How can anyone be an innocent terrorist? Execute all of them, that will solve the problem.
