Democratic Senator: Public option 'wasted effort'

In an interview on "Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace," Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND) declared that pursuing a public option was a "wasted effort."

WALLACE: Would the president be better off just taking the public option off the table right now?

CONRAD: Look, the fact of the matter is there are not the votes in the U.S. Senate for the public option. There never have been. So to continue to chase that rabbit, I think, is just a wasted effort.

Awesome. This is guaranteed to cause a Liberal meltdown.

Hardcore leftists will never give up their belief that healthcare is a “civil right” which can be given as an entitlement to some people while robbing others at gunpoint to pay for it.

Sorry, but normal political calculation doesn't work with Leninists.

Every toehold they get within the health care system, they use to destroy it. ANY "reform" that creates more rules, more regulations, and more oversight by bureaucrats will simply hasten the day when doctors, nurses, and hospitals surrender, because working conditions have become impossible and payments insufficient to avoid bankruptcy.

Many people see these government-induced dysfunctions as failures.

THEY ARE NOT FAILURES.

Destruction of what exists is the purpose of government medical programs. After all, as their inspirer and patron, V.I. Lenin his own self, said, "The worse, the better".

Public option will be out temproarily. When was the last time the left gave up on anything? This will end up back in the final legislation. You can bet the house on that...

Absolutely right!

Obama is a committed marxist as are 90% of the heads of all committees in Congress. If it takes a little longer they're cool with thta.

Oh no doubt. They’ll just reword things and go with a more clever trojan horse next time. They miscalculated in trying to openly sell it as a public plan.
