Here is video of Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele arguing with Fox News' Shepherd Smith about the "Public Option" in Health Care. Smith defended the position that a "Public Option" is NOT Government-run Health Care, which Steele said was "absolutely not accurate." Smith repeatedly interrupted Steele as he tried to explain the GOP position. At one point, Steele told Smith that he had "just repeated the Democrat talking points" very well. . . . (VIDEO)

After Steele, Smith interviewed some smiley-faced Dem and proceeded to cheerlead throughout that segment.

Smith's only voiced objection and critique was the lack of the “public option” which he presumed would make the Bacchus bill too expensive.

Smith is a news reader. He is certainly not an analytical thinker.

FoxNews is not a conservative network. It is a network with conservatives and liberals. It is the most balanced of all the networks. The other networks are overweighted on the Democrats by about 9 to 1.

Talking over a person before his first sentence is finished is the oldest trick in the book. Guess, Shepard didn’t get the RNC talking points.

Pray for America and Our Troops

Exactly right. It drives me crazy when the White House and others attack FoxNews as an extremist right-wing organization. It's not. I consider FoxNews to be moderate in that it does provide a balance between Left and Right. There are many times when FoxNews aggravates me because it presents something in a manner which I consider too far left. Oh well. I figure a balanced approach is bound to annoy everyone at some time.

But from the Left's perspective, being balanced means you are a traitor to The Cause and therefore a crazy rightwing extremist.

...FoxNews aggravates me because it presents something in a manner which I consider too far left.

It doesn't aggravate me at all as long as it is stated honestly.

What pi$$e$ me off is the lies!

I’ve seen several dems on shows lately push the public option as necessary for competition. However, nobody (even on Fox) pipes up to ask, “Why don’t we try real free market competition first by allowing insurance companies to compete across state lines before resorting to a public option?” It seems the dems are getting away with this ruse that the public option is some sort of cost savior when, in fact, its main goal is to assist a government takeover of our health care system.

I would really like it if Republicans would pause during an interview, point at the camera and say (to Smith, Chris Matthews, Katie Couric, whomever) “You’re lying to your audience! And you know you’re lying to them! Have you no shame?”

I received an email from Rep. Sue Myrick (R NC) about her backing "H.R. 3713, The American Health Care Solutions Act of 2009". While it probably won't grow legs, it does address a more free market solution to the health care issue.

If only FNC would trade Dobbs for Shep.

Shep could hang out with Cooper and Dobbs would fit in well on FNC.

Enough to drive the WH round the bend.

Why don’t we try real free market competition first

Because it would work and eliminate the need for a democrat power grab?

I didn’t think he was still in the closet about being gay.

He is definitely a closet liberal in the Fox henhouse.
