Joseph Cao, the lone Republican to vote in favor of the health care bill, released a statement explaining his decision. In his statement, he emphasizes the adoption of the Stupak pro-life amendment, and also notes: Today, I obtained a commitment from President Obama that he and I will work together to address the critical health care issues of Louisiana including the FMAP crisis and community disaster loan forgiveness, as well as issues related to Charity and Methodist Hospitals. And, I call on my constituents to support me as I work with him on these issues.

More free money for LA?
In other words, Cao, your vote was bought and paid for.
Well,,,if he got *disaster loan forgiveness* for his district, then his vote to change America into a socialist state makes more sense!
He really is stupid! You got punk’d, dude!
Bye, bye Joe.
Apparently this naive little idiot was left off the clue bird's target list. He sold his soul on a promise from the zer0. Smart move, Cao.
This game is a flaming fiscal liberal. He only voted against the stimulus because it didn’t give his district enough pork, not because he believed in free markets instead of government.
Let Cao go into the wastebin of history in 2010. Better to have an actual dem vote for dem programs than to have some weaksauce RINO vote for our side when it doesn’t matter and vote for the other side 100% of the time.
Cao is an embarassment to the majority of Vietnamese-Americans who vote Republican.
Maybe 0 will also help him with funding. Good luck with that Cao.
Or give him a really big freezer.
Well, well, well. I guess there is a reason so little of the stimulus money has been spent so far. Once he gets healthcare, Obama will make money will rain out of the sky for all the good little communists.
Who’da thunk it?
What an irrelevant hapless one-termer. Obama and the DCCC will fully fund and support his opposition next Fall! Sad that he actually thinks he can justify Bobby Jindal’s sloppy decision to appoint him to replace William Jefferson.
Only if it has cash inside.
Don’t blame Bobby Jindal. Cao was duly elected to defeat Jefferson
That's the best that Jindal could do?? Did he consult Gingrich first?
Jindal didn’t appoint Cao, he won the election after it was moved back due to a natural disaster interfering with the timing of the primary.
And the DCCC doesn’t need to spend a single penny to take that seat back, it’s so minority-heavy.
One Republican vote, and just enough Democrat votes, provided gladly by National Right to Life.
You of course realize that Cao won Dollar Bill Jefferson’s old district in New Orleans?
“Promises from Obama”...
I’ll bet.
So they bought him off.
Are you surprised?
