Barack Obama is up to some spending "freeze" trickery when he claims that he will seek a freeze on a part of the budget for some domestic programs. In reality, the Obama "freeze" will actually lock in an already weighty, 20%, average increase for FY 09 and 10 in the budgets of departments that Obama claims will have their spending "frozen" for three years. These departments exclude the Pentagon, Homeland Security, and others which administer programs like Social Security. According to Charles Krauthammer who appeared on the O'Reilly Factor, what Obama wants to do is to deviously preserve massive increases in departments that Obama instituted last year under the guise of helping the economy rise out of the recession through massive government-spending increases.

No big deal, it’s just another little white lie.
Too late, Bozo!!
Absolutely amazing. The stimulus package was used to increase government budgets. Now they want those same increases made permanent and are calling it a freeze. How’s that for hubris?
How many times during the health care debate were we told they were going to have hundreds of billions getting rid of waste, fraud and abuse in medicare and medicaid? Can someone please explain why we have to wait for a health care bill to take care of this problem?
Here’s an idea for saving money on medicare, medicaie and in a lot of other areas of government. Start an incentive program for government employees whereby they get a percentage of the savings every time they find a way to eliminate fraud, waste and abuse. For instance if an employee finds a case where something doesn’t look right with a medicare claim or a series of claims and they investigate or point it out and there is indeed fraud, that employee gets a percentage of whatever the government saves. There would be an incentive for employees to stop treating the money wasted in their departments as though it wasn’t important and start looking at it like it might actually belong to the people of this country. Many corporations do this and save millions. Can you imagine the billions that could be saved if government hacks actually had a reason to want to save money?
I’m going to post this idea every darn time I see a piece on saving money in government. This is so easy to understand. Republicans should be shouting this from the rooftops.
Someone better shout, “YOU LIE!” if this twit tries to state this in the SOTU speech tonight.
The new Demonrat mantra! Woof, woof, let granny eat dog food...spoof on 'let them eat cake'. obama's war on seniors

Expanding support for families balancing work with caring for elderly relatives with a $102.5 million Caregiver Initiative adding $52.5 million in funding to Department of Health and Human Services caregiver support programs that provide temporary respite care, counseling, training, and referrals to critical services. The administration says the extra funding will allow nearly 200,000 additional caregivers to be served and 3 million more hours of respite care to be provided. It also adds $50 million to programs that provide transportation help, adult day care, and in-home services, such as aides to help seniors bathe and cook, help which eases the burden for family members and helps seniors stay in their homes.

Obama puts the country 1.6 trillion in the hole ok were going to freeze spending now I got what I wanted so there.
Lol, It’s akin to your car mechanic billing you $2,000 for a transmission job but assuring you he’ll freeze the $15 charge for the air freshener next time you visit.
Not only did he jack up the cost of the air freshener 20% from the previous visit, other shops are telling you they could have fixed your car for much less.
