Hes a felon. Hes from South Carolina. He wants to run for political office.
Theres been a lot of turmoil in South Carolina political circles over the past year. Brian Doyle is making sure it continues. The best thing about this felon (he was convicted in 2003 and served two years for conspiracy and document fraud), is his party affiliation. This guy is a Democrat.

He will fit right in, they won’t need to train him!
Slogan: “Brian Doyle - a Democrat Criminal You Can Count On”
James Traficant in Ohio, also a democrat.
Best thing about him, he wants to halt payroll taxes. Even sent Obama a letter asking him to do so. I wish Obama would listen to him.
Running as a Dem, there won’t be much of a learning curve.
After the sentence has been served and restitution made, a person should get their rights restored.
Now that you mention it, I'm kinda curious about this issue, too.
What did the Founding Fathers believe should happen to a person's voting rights after being convicted of a felony -- did they think that their right to vote should be eliminated permanently as part of their punishment, or should the person's right be reinstated after serving their sentence?
Does anyone have any knowledge about this?
I personally would like to see the latter, keeping in mind that sentences for criminal acts should be MUCH stronger than what they are now & that the death penalty should be expanded & used more often....if not regularly.
A democrat of the John Jenrette tradition?
I certainly don't have a problem for stiff punishment for crime. Prison should be unpleasant, and I am for capital punishment when it is warranted. I just am not a believer in creating a permanent underclass. If a convicted felon (non-capital crime) accepts punishment and lives clean after, they should have their rights restored, and their record expunged so they can get a decent job.
There are people who did something stupid when they were young and when they are old are still paying for it. That's ludicrous.
Out of the playbook of Marion Barry.
