Here’s a first-hand story of the effects of illegal immigration. Both my parents died of cancer. Toward the end of my mother’s life, my brothers and I took her to hospitals more times than we care to remember, for life-prolonging procedures – until there was nothing more that could be done. During her final month I took her to the local Hospital Emergency Room one night. We arrived at about 10:30 p.m. and found the waiting room literally filled with non-English-speaking Latinos.
None of the people ahead of us appeared to have an emergency or to be in great distress. I put my mother, whose condition was by then so weak that she could sit comfortably for only brief periods of time, into a chair and we waited for our turn. After about one hour, a nurse brought a wheel chair and took my mother in for treatment. She died a few weeks later at home. That was a very long hour and I still recall that evening with anger.

More and more I think that the ol’ party has hijacked the word conservative, but aren’t conservative at all. I’m really starting to wonder about third parties in some instances; it’s doggone frustrating!

While I agree that the RNC will need to undergo some DRASTIC renovations before I could ever recommend anyone donate money to it, the Republican Party and CPAC are two different entities. Though in the past they often worked in tandem due to ideological similarities, they are not actually affiliated. CPAC is a colloquium that used to be made up of conservative organisation, but is now largely made up of non-conservative ones.
OK I am not trying to have a fight but learn on this as I ma confused
over this last two weeks I have been on homosexual threads and others where a couple of libeterians have been on and their view is so radically different to ours.
I do not understand as to why they come on here and why they go to CPAC, etc.
It makes no sense to me liek Ron paul makes no sense to me on most issues and yet he joins the GOP,
WHY?
the only reason I can think of is that they cannot get anywhere on their party ticket so they use ours .
Issues like homosexuals marrying etc and their agenda is something where conservatives will never back down as most of toe country will not and yet liberteraisn come on here trying to push their agenda knowing they are not supposed to.
To me none of them make sense if they are not trying to promote their party or have their meetings so maybe someone could explain as why they do it
Grover is only interested in promoting and enriching himself. Legalizing millions of illegal immigrants will destroy what’s left of America. We can’t absorb millions of uneducated non English speaking people who will suck our resources dry. Who is going to hire all these immigrants and who will they take a job away from? Amnesty is a dagger in the heart of this country.

I think you’re more or less nailed it - they glom onto us because we’re successful, and they’re not.
The Libertarian Party is a pipe dream, and has been since 1970. It routinely polls in the sub-1% range, and about the only thing it seems to be any good for is throwing very tight races to liberal Democrats and away from conservative Republicans. Fie on it, I say.
Ron Paul, who ran on the LP ticket for President in 1988, I think, similarly failed to have any impact. He runs on the GOP ticket because that way, he can actually get elected.
Interesting, RoPaul has a Tea Party candidate primary challenger. This ought to be fun to watch as the guy who’s trying to hijack the Tea Party might just find his seat hijacked by a Tea Partier!

Good old Grover. I’m happy that conservatives are FINALLY getting a dose of what this Judas is all about. There was a time not long ago, where you would have been severely slapped around for merely posting anything negative about him, Rove, Bush...or any of the squatter support squad.
JL, many of us have similar stories to yours. My kid’s dad was in an auto accident in L.A....taken to a hospital filled will aliens and the staff mostly spoke no English. They refused him a phone, doped him heavily and let him lay there for a week with broken ankles..didn’t even set them. We finally found him, took him to the Vet’s hospital. He lived about a year longer. He was 60, a Viet Nam vet.
A few years ago we were forced to sell our family home at a tremendous loss, when a barrio of young alien men moved across the street. That wasn’t Los Angeles, or Phoenix, Az, it was Southern Oregon.
The policies, and refusal to enforce our laws has cost my family everything, but we were lucky. Thousands of Americans have died at the hands of illegal aliens.

“We are a nation of Immigrants!”— Not so fast!
We hear it every day from the media and the presidential candidates.
“We are a nation of immigrants!”
Translation, “There is no need to secure our borders - I want my cheap labor and I don’t care what it costs my fellow citizens!”
Don’t hold your breath for that statement of reality!
It is true the USA allows more legal immigration than all other countries combined. Yes, we are the most welcoming nation on earth. And like a hostess who cooks and cleans for a week only to have her nare-do-well relatives show up, eat like pigs, trash the place, belch and leave without lifting a hand to help and asking for a bag of food to go, the USA needs to pull up her welcome mat.
In 1990 the foreign born population in the USA was 7.9%. Which meant 92.1 % of the country was NOT a nation of immigrants.
1860 through 1930 were the greatest percentages of foreign born until now, another time in our history where we allowed mass immigration, until it got out of hand and a stop was put to it. In fact, during the 1860’s volumes of immigrants were allowed in to fight the civil war for the Union. Of the total Black population of 4,880,009 in 1870, 9,645, or only 0.2 percent, were foreign-born.
The largest percentage of foreign born , 14.8% was recorded in the 1890 census, when we had a lot more room and resources to support them and when migrants were not dependent on the taxpayer and provided translators. Yet somehow, they made it.
The period of time, which happens also to be the time of our current US residents experience, with the least foreign born population was 1950 to 1990, averaging about 6.2% foreign born.
Amazing, isn’t it, how prosperous we became in that period without mass immigration.
Equally amazing is the claim by open border advocates that this nation cannot survive economically without the millions per year now coming in both legal and illegal. A silly claim disproven by the conditions those same foreign nationals left their respective 3rd world countries in.
In 1990 there were 7,350,512 foreign born who spoke Spanish instead of English at home, half of all foreign language homes in the USA. That same year the census counted 3 1/2 million foreign born over age 65. Now, there’s a work force for ya! 450,000 of them were over age 85!
Regarding citizenship of the foreign born population, that has shown a trend of not bothering with becoming a US citizen by immigrants. In 1950, 20% were not citizens. By 1990, about 60% of the foreign born living here were not citizens, usually maintaining loyalty only to their homelands.
As a percentage of the total population, the foreign-born population increased from 4.7 percent in 1970 to 6.2 percent in 1980, to 7.9 percent in 1990, and to an estimated 9.7 percent in 1997. In 2004 The nation’s foreign-born population is estimated to be 33.5 million, with slightly more than half from Latin America, 25 percent from Asia, 14 percent from Europe, and the remainder from other regions and twelve percent of U.S. population is foreign born in 2004. You can see where this trend is heading.
In Miami-Dade County, Florida, more than half the residents were born in another country, the highest rate reported for the 2000 census for any county in the country. There were 33-million foreign-born residents in the United States, the Census Bureau reports, a 44 percent increase since 1990.
In 2002, nearly 20 percent of children in the U.S. or 14 million children, had at least one foreign-born parent.
A nation of immigrants? That’s where we’re headed if the trend isn’t checked as our leaders were wise enough to do in the past. Unlike other times, however, we can’t even get them to say “illegal aliens” or stop the flow.

grover norquist, nra board member. norquist is a very large heavy hitter, lobbyist, agenda setter and go to guy for C.A.I.R. yep, cair, the nazi germany ‘bund’ type org. that was very active in this country prior, (and then in more limited ways, during) WW2. the muslim outfit cair is dedicated to the overthrow of this nation from/by any means necessary. the fact that norquist made it in as a board member of the nra tells ya all ya need to know about that late great outfit. my $$$ donations and contributions go to other pro firearms groups. also, thanks for your service ‘Vet.
