"Romney Stadium" (named after E.L. “Dick” Romney, USU coach)

I didn't know this guy had a stadium named after him. Did he name it himself? Romney's like another Joseph Smith, conniving. Smith would have been a RINO for sure (see video evidence linked above). Maybe Romney is the "second coming" of Joseph Smith or maybe he just thinks he is. (Jesus warned that counterfeiters would come in his name)

"Utah State honored Olsen in December by naming the football field at Romney Stadium “Merlin Olsen Field.” Because of his illness, Olsen’s alma mater didn’t want to wait until football season and made the announcement during halftime of a basketball game." http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-obit-olsen&prov=ap&type=lgns

Olsen seemed like a genuine guy (unlike Mittens). I didn't write this to be negative towrd him. I just happened to learn of "Romney Stadium" while reading about Olsen.

Romney Stadium is named after E.L. “Dick” Romney, USU’s all-time winningest football coach and former Athletics Director.

a quick look at Wikipedia: "Named for E.L. “Dick” Romney, Utah State’s all-time winningest football coach and former athletics director, Romney Stadium was officially dedicated on Sept. 27, 1969. The first game in Romney Stadium history came a season earlier in 1968, when Utah State defeated New Mexico State, 28–12 on September 14th."

He is a distant relative of former Michigan Gov. George Romney and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

Nothing to do with ol' Mitt

Actually, Romney Stadium is not named after Mitt but after E.L. Romney, a former USU head coach and athletic director who is to this day the winningest head coach in Utah State football history. While "Dick" Romney is a distant relative of George and Mitt, the stadium is not named after Mitt.

Actually, you have to look carefully (just like with all Romney chicanery). What I deduced from the quote is that it is STILL “Romney Stadium”. They simply named the -FIELD-after Olsen!

I’m only postulating but I think I’m probably correct. After all, this IS a Romney were talking about here.

Oh know. I am saddened by this but thank you both for letting me know. I can’t believe I missed it. I guess I have been reading about Cory too much :). Dang that is really very depressing. Prayers to him and his family.

OOPS!I jumped to a conclusion, to my chagrin. But I don’t take back the comparison of Mitt Romney to Joseph Smith and that Joseph Smith would have been a RINO.

“Romney Stadium”

Looks really good on the outside, but you’re disappointed there’s not really much on the inside. What little there is inside is constantly shifting around trying to take care of everyone but just not really doing the job.

If Mitt wants a stadium named after him, he should lobby the Rocherster, NY soccer team.

Actually, Smith WOULD NOT have been welcome in the GOP.

When Abraham Lincoln and others formed the Republican Party as the Whig Party was collapsing, they had TWO main goals:

1. The abolition of slavery.

2. The abolition of POLYGAMY.

I’m sure that some of the Mittens will show up demanding proof, so here it is:

Keep in mind that the ONLY group practicing polygamy in America in the 1850s was the Mormons.
