Did the Media Muff Story On Racist Tea Party Protestors?
Accuracy in Media ^ | March 21, 2010 | Don Irvine

The mainstream media is all agog over claims by congressional Democrats that they were called names and spat upon as they walked by Tea Party protesters yesterday on Capitol Hill. Yet as this video shows there appears to be no evidence that this did indeed occur calling into question the accuracy of the initial reports.

Maybe there is some video footage corroborating the Democrats charges, but until it surfaces the mainstream press should make it clear to the public that this is only hearsay at best and reflects their own bias against the Tea Party movement.

Even Fox reporters were carrying the story. Where’s the proof? Anyone doing this maybe a plant. The Tea Partiers
should jump anyone doing this and get their licenses to get names and addresses to find out who they are.

Even if there was a racist slur thrown its meaningless. The constitution grants the same rights to racists as it does anyone else.

Beyond that it was pure distraction.

I was there. At least one member of the CBC’s group was taking video with a phone as they were walking by. I heard no epithets, but it should be easy for them to produce the video/audio if it occurred. Why do I think we will not see such a video? Am I becoming a cynic in my old age?

wasn’t Imus the guy who broadcast the comment about nappy-headed ho’s???

Anyhow, so glad I took my kids to the Capital rally on Saturday- now I have another lesson to teach them! About what the press reports happened, and what they personally witnessed happening.

This is and iwll be a VERYy powerful lesson in not trusting or believing what the press “reports”, and why the “press” slants what it reports, and how.

Dear DriveBy’s, Thank You for the booster civics lesson to my kids!

there is a video of this walk through and the crowd, and it was posted on an earlier thread.

No slurs. Just “Kill the BIll”

Barney Franks also claimed that he was called by a homophobic slur. My local paper’s article about the protest was about nothing but anger, hostility, slurs, racism.

You have it there. The tactic used by the Dems was distraction.

Keep everyone concentrating on something (whether it happened or not), get everyone talking about it (apologizing and denouncing and what-not) ...

while the President and Stupak were working out the backroom deal.

Dem politics at it finest. Smoke and Mirrors that the American public always seems to fall for.

Interesting that they ignored the Tea Parties and their huge numbers until they could come up with a story to discredit them and then they run with lies. Their response to the Tea Parties is a perfect template of the corrupt biased media.

Even in Boehners “Hell No” speech he conceded the point about racial slurs at the very onset. Why did he throw that bone out to the left? Is the Tea Party a burr under the saddle of Republicans in this “good cop bad cop” dog and pony show? Conjecture, yes, jaded.

I have not seen the proof the racial slurs happened. The Tea Party people I ahve been around have been peaceful to a fault.

Yes, it is a nasty political game that wil get worse under a more powerful socialist regime emboldened by their success on Sunday.

The media plays a big part in helping, as Dingel talks about, “controlling the people.”

Bush said, “you are either with us or against us”. The Dems just make sure you carry their dirty water and do their mischief or it will be done to you as Dems will do to all that get in their way. Truth is not part of the mix. Having a soul, a conscience and a moral compass works against one.

Bush was at war with people who attacked America. Obama/Pelosi/Frank at war with people who dare speak truth, read bills, ask questions and pay their own way to DC.

Nasty stuff. Kept Eastern Europe locked down pretty well.

We saw this coming with how they handled Joe the Plumber - the machine set out ot crush Joe for asking a question which elicited Obama’s answer.

Doubleplusungood Dems marching for Freedom and health of Americans!! Just make sure you don’t say the wrong thing. it will be unhealthy for you.

I think a lot of us are ready to sacrifice.

I was there. if any such thing happened, I sure missed it.

I noticed on C-Span later the congressman who was griping about it (forget his name) was very clever. He said it was hideous that some black congressmen had to “worry about being called the N word, opr being spat upon”.

This way you can’t prove him a liar. He didn’t say they “were” called the N word or spat upon, just that they “had to worry about it”.

Those are pro talking points there.

“My local paper’s article about the protest was about nothing but anger, hostility, slurs, racism.”

Not surpising. But it’s all BS. I was there. If anything, in my opinion, we were much TOO polite.

Picture a gathering of middle class conservative folks. See what I mean?

I noticed when leaving that everyone threw their trash in the overflowing cans. No litter, etc.

BTW, there was no water available (the drinking fountains were turned off), no vendors on the streets, and no porta potties.

Good for you!

My wife and I were there too. We both though it was a hopeful sign when we saw people bringin their kids. Maybe there’s hope in the next generation!

Obama’s DC, not “The Peoples”! You haven’t seen anything yet.

A tea-female should put out a competing charge that one of the congressmen while walking thought the crowd called out the c-word at her as a slur.....then watch as the media say, ‘YEAH? WELL PROVE IT and PRODUCE THE VIDEO.’ At which point we say, EXACTLY. Period. Dot. Bingo.

This race-card stuff is so insulting. So,I get home and find an email was shotgunned out from my Tea Party Chair:

“... Tea Party does not condone nor will it tolerate racism, sexism, or religious intolerance or bigotry in any form within the ranks of its membership or at any of its sanctioned events. Such beliefs, attitudes, and activities are contrary to the basic rights of all humankind as outlined in the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence.”

This is why they accuse us. It ties our hands momentarily and makes us overly cautious.

It reminds me of what the Catholic Schools have done in a response to their scandals: send all the parents that will interact with kids to abuse classes.

These accusations, projections, tranfers and pyschological games waste time of intraspective, moral thinking people.

The psychotics do not pause. These things do not impact the conscience-less.
