To: Notoriously Conservative

I’m not sure if I should take this seriously or not, but...

Having grown up in an era when EVERYONE used wooden bats, I can tell you flat out that metal bats are significantly more dangerous than wood ones. Which is worse?

1. an occasional splintered bat (a rare occurance).

2. zillion mile per hour base hits that nearly take the pitchers head off (occurs in almost every ball game using metal bats, at every level).

From a softball standpoint, metal bats are now as obsolete as wooden bats when compared to the present composit bats.......

I think the issue here is traditional hickory versus maple.
