Barnicle: ‘Left Is Getting A Pass’
Accuracy in Media ^ | March 30, 2010 | Don Irvine

MSNBC political analyst and columnist Mike Barnicle admitted the media is not being balanced in covering the Tea Party Movement because they are covering the fringe of the movement and that the left never had the megaphone the right has with talk radio.

(follow link for video clip of interview)

Barnicle is still stuck with other liberals in attacking the Tea Party for what they perceive as racism and bigotry though they have no evidence to support their claims. He is right that the left is getting a pass but it's not because they're covering the Tea Party protests but because they don't want to honestly cover the administration's liberal agenda.

As for the left not having a megaphone when it comes to talk radio that's due to their own failed attempts. The left has had an equal opportunity on the radio airwaves but with a few exceptions has largely failed because on one wants to listen to them.

What Barnicle needs is a reality check and stop making excuses for the left's failures.

The left had Err America, but failed. People want honest debate, not constant partisan attacks, which was all Err America ever provided.

So, please, Mikey, don't tell me the left never had a megaphone. After all, who's side is the MSM on, hmmmm?

Please tell me that you mean that literally. When Barnicle was fired by the Globe, Howie Carr trumpeted that a boil on the rear of Boston journalism had been lanced. Barnicle was an obvious fabulist for a long time, but none of his editors at the lamestream Globe did the all important gate keeping function of actually, you know, even worrying if his stories were in the least plausible, let alone even, what's the word I'm searching for? Oh, yeah, like you know, "true". He passed off barstool ancedotes as "reporting". Just like that other enormous phony, Jimmy Breslin.

The left has always had the New York Times. You know- the paper everyone in the media reads to learn which stories to cover.
