And the thought was the jobs that the illegal vacate could not be filled by legal workers and/or American citizens?

‘Illegals are only doing the jobs Americans don’t want to do.’

This article proves that old canard is nothing but Grade A bullsh!t. Americans WOULD do the jobs but no one has offered the jobs to them.

That's nonsense. Did you ever consider that the new job applicants had been laid-off from former jobs they had during the economic expansion?

Another person who can’t read. The article emphasized he didn’t say he was against it. In fact, he wants the federal government to step up enforcement because he thinks they are the ones who should do it.

READ. Don’t be a knee-jerker.

"And the thought was the jobs that the illegal vacate could not be filled by legal workers and/or American citizens?"

Shows just how insulated and ignorant of reality politicians have become. Washington D.C. is a rathole of corruption, it's all about themselves and the votes they can garner. If you could lift up the shroud of power that covers Washington D.C. it'd be like picking up a rock and watching the slimey insects swirl around as they run from the light.

Maybe he should read The Constitution where it says the states can do what AZ is doing. He is a Jeb Bush-bot and Crist is worse.

The FL GOP is filled with RINOs who support the elites and the drug cartels.

Yep, each and every one of those 300 job applicants had just been laid off from vastly superior jobs they had procured during "economic expansion". And not a one of them would have sought out these type of jobs in the past, because "economic expansion" had literally spanned their entire working lives. They were all college grads and bank presidents. Groan...........

_____________

So? US citizens need the jobs.

And this isn’t the first time. Other businesses who have been nailed during the ‘economic expansion’ and forced to get rid of illegals had people lined up for the jobs.

December 20, 2006
More applicants applying for Swift & Co.

[snip] Almost 800 people have taken out applications for jobs at Swift & Co. in the past month, but those applicants increased dramatically last week.

Linda Perez, director of Weld Employment Services, said her office was seeing about 100 applicants a week from Nov. 20 up to the Dec. 12 raid on Swift’s beef packing plant in Greeley, “but we’ve definitely seen an increase over that since last week,” Perez said Wednesday.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials detained more than 260 workers at the Greeley plant and nearly 1,300 companywide at five other plants last week.

"Scr*w him and Charlie Crist. Marco Rubio is against AZ law. Rubio is Mel Martinez 2. Crist s*cks too."

It's not so much that he's against the AZ law as it is that he's for himself. He wants those hispanic votes too, whether legal or illegal. Career politicians are all pretty much vermin. They make their way through life by deceiving people, and the better they are at deceipt the better they will fare in politics. Americans should have learned by now to trust NO career politician, and to keep their feet to the fire when they do get elected.

It's very "interesting" though, as I watch America implode from within via multi-culturalism and 'tolerance', I see the people in power intentionally increasing the divides and taking stands AGAINST the American people. They obviously see white Americans as a thing of the past, having been duly relegated to second class citizens whose voices mean little.

Conservative Americans have the numbers to turn this travesty around, if only we could unite.

I hear that all the time.

I grew up in Los Angeles in the 1950s. At the car wash, the people who dried the cars were Americans. Now they are all illegals.

If the illegals did not get the jobs, they would be filled by Americans again.

There is a problem with the logic presented by the last administration. Illegals cause wages to drop to artificial lows because of their numbers and willingness to work “under the table”. When employers get desperate they raise the wage they are willing to pay (along with prices) until they can fill their headcount requirements. If prices become too high or margins too low they seek lower wage alternatives (illegals).

Somewhere in that process, regular Americans and teenagers get pushed out of the work pool. The elimination of the artificial labor will help to rebound employment but will also cause problems with production until it levels off.

This article proves that old canard is nothing but Grade A bullsh!t. Americans WOULD do the jobs but no one has offered the jobs to them.

I've said the same for years. My children grew up in an agricultural area in the 90's. It was almost impossible for them to get jobs in the orchards due to the "migrant" population working there. My kids were capable of the hard work and would have taken the pay being offered.

One son did get a job and worked with nothing but spanish speaking workers...they didn't do anything to make him feel included. Of course...he was just a white kid taking a job from an illegal...why would they talk to him? It was a great learning lesson for him - I think it helped to seal the deal on him being a solid conservative.

I don’t care if they were high school graduates just entering the work force. That’s not the point.

It’s that when that slogan was first uttered, there was virtually full employment for a country of 320 million people. 4.5%

Now it’s over 10%! Credit lines have dried up.

After 16 months of The Barry Obama Show, many people will take entry level blue collar factory positions.

The original point being that statement once rang true. They filled the jobs nobody else wanted.
