I read the Michael Hastings RollingStone article, “The Runaway General.” Frankly, I don’t see what all the brouhaha is all about. And I seriously doubt that General Stanley McChrystal will be bending over to provide the president with an ass to kick.
There was that banter between the General and his aides about Vice president Biden, but it was really of no consequence. Then there is the reporting of General McChrystal’s impressions of president Barry Hussein Soetoro when he first meets him.
According to sources familiar with the meeting, McChrystal thought Obama looked "uncomfortable and intimidated" by the roomful of military brass. Their first one-on-one meeting took place in the Oval Office four months later, after McChrystal got the Afghanistan job, and it didn't go much better…Here's the guy [Soetoro] who's going to run his fucking war, but he didn't seem very engaged. I believe the person in our White House can grow to the maturity of a five year old. I’ll admit I’m a bit of an optimist, but I really do believe that much growth may be within Obama’s capabilities.
I bought into his "hope" enough to think he might "change" ... and at least reach the maturity level of a five-year-old. Sometimes that seems over optimistic, but at least it's possible.
You expect a life-long Marxist ideologue to change?
