Atheist techies fearful of the Word of God 'corrupting' young and impressionable minds are hoping that when school resumes in September, their revolutionary new Internet filtering software will keep kids safe in the classroom from the ultimate online predator, namely, God.

"GodBlock is a web filter that blocks religious content," states the company's website. "It is targeted at parents and schools who wish to protect their kids from the often violent, sexual, and psychologically harmful material in many holy texts, and from being indoctrinated into any religion before they are of the age to make such decisions."

Not even the "most deeply religious" parents and children are safe from the online threats posed by religions bound in faith to the Almighty God, claim GodBlock's creators. "Fundamentalist Evangelicals, Mormons, Baptists, Muslims, and Jews have ... READ MORE

Reason #999,475 to get your kids out of public school.

The Founding Fathers would be horrified by such machinations as this. In their day, the Bible was taught in schools everywhere.

Why would they need to filter out something that they claim does not exist?

Does it block the works of Nietzsche? Like his stuff isn’t violent and psychologically disturbing.

LOL. I don’t think anyone on the atheist side would suggest that online religious content doesn’t exist.

Glad to know that they support debate, knowledge, information, a free internet and other values in place of their hatred of God . . . :P

LOL
However, we all know that they do believe God exists, they are just afraid of their own eternity.

I started working with some hard core techies a year or so ago and was completely shocked people like them existed (as far as mindset goes). They have no interest in anything of consequence and focus a good amount of their time to online gaming. Their lack of interest and knowledge about the economy, foreign policy, and religion for that matter doesn’t stop them from “trolling” (just trying to get under your skin). They seem to place all their faith in their own cunning rather than the Holy Spirit. Pray for these lost souls.

Most atheists aint an atheist, and for those, they just hate God.

You see it all over the place and they will gravitate to certain fields of careers if they get the break.

I probably shouldn’t have lumped all techies in together. I guess I was just shocked to see there are people out there that don’t hold any true beliefs other than to belittle other people because of their beliefs. I try to keep my head down with these guys because it’s not worth rocking the boat at work. Nevertheless, one of the guys calls me to his desk one day (this was during the HC debate). He then plays for me a recording of the John Boy & Billy radio show (or it could have been the Rick and Bubba show, can’t remember). My co-worker had called into the show while they were debating the HC bill and talking about death panels, rationing, etc. This co-worker then proceeded to ‘troll’ them. I only listened to a few minutes of the recording but in those few minutes it became painfully obvious this guy had no idea what was truly in the bill other than what he had heard from Jon Stewart. I politely smiled, told him I had other work to do, and walked away.

Are they going to block access to certain NEA funded works of art, too?
