On weapons ban, Nugent’s unsupportable timeline
Wake Up 1776 (Commentary and Photo) & Tampa Tribune (Investigative Info) ^ | 26 July, 2010 | John Smithers & Tom Jackson

Folks,

Tom Jackson over at the Tampa Tribune did some great investigative research about Rich Nugent's Gun Ban answer the other day. Friends, let me state this bluntly: Rich Nugent is a lying, squirming, self-aggrandizing politician. He will lie about anything. He has been caught several times displaying no integrity. Don't we care about a candidates' integrity anymore? We cannot afford to believe these congress critters at face value anymore. It is imperative that who hold them to a higher standard of integrity.

In the summer of 2004, the 10-year “assault weapons” ban passed during the Clinton administration was only months from expiration. Gun control activists, frantic to gain an extension, recruited law enforcement officials to sign petitions indicating their support for the ban. Hernando County Sheriff Richard Nugent, lately a Republican seeking Florida’s District 5 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, was among the signatories.

When I see “weapons” and “nugent” in the headline. I assume “Ted Nugent.” Must be the anti-matter universe version.

Given that Ted’s words matter, I agree.

LOL... It is Rich Nugent, the establishment candidate running against the Tea Party candidate, Jason Sager. They are running in Florida’s 5th District...

Well, that depends on whether he's in a close race and if he has an (R) following his name.

If both of these conditions are true, then integrity is just another one of the words in the dictionary that follows integer and his words and actions are meaningless because the only thing that matters is electing an (R).

Additional discussion here:

On weapons ban, Nugent’s unsupportable timeline (FL-05 Candidate Rich Nugent supported weapons ban)

With my comment at the opening post

For those too lazy to click through to my earlier post, I point out that not only is the timeline very questionable, the SKS long rifle that Hank Earl Carr used was not subject to the Clinton era “assault weapons ban.” Also, Carr obtained his weapon by taking it from the trunk of a police car he stole, after killing the officers assigned to that car. The ban wouldn't have stopped him from getting his hands on it in that manner. Criminals will always find ways to get guns.

Sheriff Richard B. Rich Nugent for Congress
I stand with Jason Sager in Florida's 5th Congressional District. Sheriff Richard B. Rich Nugent for Congress
