The main stream media have been in an uproar over the poll results suggesting that approximately one in five Americans believe President Obama is a Muslim. Their incredulity stems from the fact that Obama professes to be a Christian. Therefore, the respondents who believe otherwise must be a bunch of ninnyhammers.
Actually, the one in five figure may be a small number. Suppose another famous claim by Obama is polled. In February he claimed to be, "an ardent believer in free markets."
What percent of Americans believe that?
BUMP for accuracy for a change.
I don't know about Moslem, but no Christian could listen to Jeremiah Wright rant and spew his hatred while fleecing his flock. Obama did it for twenty years by his own admission.
I don't know what that makes him, but he isn't a Christian. I can't recall a gospel condoning hatred of your fellow humans.
Public figures are afraid to say what they really think:
That Obama lied about everything else, so why should we believe what he says about religion?
I can't recall ever seeing him go to church since he was elected.
The question you have to ask prior to that is: What percentage of Americans understand the term Free Market?
He doesn’t even believe in free enterprise, let alone markets.
The gospel according to some FReepers apparently does. Does it make it right?
My FReeper home page plainly states my politics.
My FReeper name is Arabic for "Flying Eagle".
I am Muslim. Mrs. Altair is Muslim. Our children are the same religion as Obama.
We denounce terrorism in the name of religion. We denounce the efforts of those who would build a mosque in the area of what used to be the World Trade Center. We denounce the terrorists in Mindanao who commit violence in the name of our religion.
President Bush, as bad of a President as he was (and I voted for him in 2000), did not declare war on a religion. He did declare war on people who needed killing and perhaps he didn't go about it the right way.
So, do you hate me?
Oh and the news about the Miller primary in Alaska was some of the best news I've heard in awhile. Hope he wins and kicks tail in the regular election.
Huh?
