Questions Persist on O’Donnell’s Resume
Wall Street Journal ^ | 09-30-2010 | Danny Yadron

For the record, Delaware Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell did not take classes at England’s Oxford University. But the tea party-backed Republican, who has hit snag after snag since defeating Rep. Mike Castle in this month’s GOP primary, faced questions for the third consecutive day about her education credentials posted on Internet resume sites.

Another talking point!

If your Marxists gets it - then you can take out your pom poms, pee down the leg, get all wee wee'd up, do your chant, etc., etc.

GO CHRISTINE! Squash the maggot Marxist!

Hardly I printed them up de novo. Isn't that the kind you prefer anyway ~ no previous owners.

I think your little daisy chain and Mitbot affiliates have done little to advance our cause in this election.

But if you saw my response to 84, that allegation in 84 was a very skewed read of my posting history here. I'm not sure how someone who voted straight pro-life until that party lost the ballot in my state is anti social conservative, but, hey, have it your way.

No wonder you didn't ping me while dismissing my post, you were telling a tall tale.

You are solidly behind the Gay power agenda, that is anti-social conservative, pushing for homosexual adoption and "marriage"? That is solidly anti-conservative, and there is no way that you could accept O'Donnell.

Dude (or lady?), this is a conservative website. If I think a conservative candidate sucks, I’m going to say it here — where it has no chance of sabotaging the broader goals of conservatism. If I’m “sabotaging” conservative candidates here in FR, it means that a lot of conservatives are like-minded in thinking that the conservative candidate isn’t very good. If I were out in the general public or other websites commenting on how offensive I find Paladino and O’Donnell, then you might have a legitimate beef with me “sabotaging” conservatives.

But, since you asked, in a nutshell, conservatism is: a strong national defense; a government that taxes little and spends less; staying out of the free market and people’s bedrooms (I do not consider abortion to be a “people’s bedroom” issue because there’s a third person involed - the fetus, which can’t speak for itself); and leaving plenty of room for individuals to order their own personal relations as they see fit without government interference (this is why I think “marriage” should be a religious concept, not a governmental concept).

What I believe Conservatism is not, but what I am afraid American conservatism is morphing into, is a desire to enshrine Christian theology into federal or state law. I see that a lot on this site — and I hear that a lot in O’Donnell.

And that, my friend, is why we’re going to fail. You can only tell so many people who are in general agreement over principals to “get lost” before you’ve lost your base.

Wasn’t a Romney fan. Thought our Republican field was mighty unimpressive in 2008.

The truth on that, is that you were a Romney supporter. You were also fine with Giuliani.

Not very convincing so far.

That’s right, exclude me from the label “conservative” because I don’t agree with every plank in the conservative platform. I’ve also read here that Krauthammer isn’t conservative enough for the FR...and Kristol isn’t conservative enough for the FR...and Rush isn’t socially conservative enough for the FR...

Never wanted FR to be a liberal debate forum. But I miss the competing conservative voices.

Apparently the Claremont Institute, a Conservative organization, is now alleging that the Oxford claims were on the resume that O'Donnell submitted to them back in 2002. So this isn't looking real good.

Of course, they and Ms. O'Donnell haven't had what you might call a friendly history. They might be expected to pull that out, just for spite.

But if she really did put it there..... Oh, hell. It's not like she's applying for anything important, like football coach for the Fighting Irish.

I think you are pretending your opposition to O’Donnell is not, what it is:

About gay rights.

For whatever reason.

As a sideline, what are your beliefs regarding capital punishment, if you don’t mind sharing?

Is that what you really want? Do you want me to throw up my hands and say, “fine! I’m not a conservative?” and then vote for the other side? How many people can you deem “not conservative enough” before you find yourself on the margins?

Put it this way: In my 22 voting years, I’ve never pulled a lever for a Democrat. Most folks on this thread are alleging I’m a liberal. Doesn’t that make you wonder if you’re going to push away those who really are trying to decide between R and D?

You won't accept the truth. She's explained it to the satisfaction of most of us.
