During a debate between Democratic Congressman Jim Oberstar and his Republican challenger Chip Cravaack in Minnesotas 8th Congressional district, the crowd became pretty vocal at times. Most of the jeers were geared towards the 18-term Democrat.

Oberstar has been in congress for 18 terms!! It’s definitely time for him to go. What does he know or care about healthcare or jobs. He’s feathered his nest.
I’d love to see a breakdown of all the members of congress and the number of terms they have served.
Does anyone know of a summary of that information?
I grew up on da range in that district and left at 18. They are so union and democrat there but maybe they have had enough. Mining company jobs are few and far between and the unlucky ones who dont have those jobs feel fortunate to have any job.
Oberstar looks and sounds senile and after 18 terms it is time for him to head out to pasture.
Cravaak was his pilot’s union steward so there is no excuse for the union guys not to vote for him.

This is the guy who got 1, JUST ONE donation from his own district in q3, but has raised almost 2 MILLION from out-of-state PACS, and heads the Transportation Committee!
