AK Senate: Ignore Hot Air's Latest On Dittman Research & Communications Poll

Time was when blogs did the work the media didn't do, nowadays, it looks as though some are all too happy to do it. It took one call and a quick Google search to debunk this nonsense from Hot Air.

You'll hear Dittman does some work for Republicans. Sure, establishment Republicans. These two items coming up together is no coincidence. And DRC has a long history of polling positive for Murkowski all this year, if not longer. Meanwhile, the DCCC going on the air in Alaska is the best thing that could happen for Miller.

Don't despair and don't buy into Murkowski and her allies trying to make her seem inevitable. That just isn't the case and her people know it. Word on the street in Alaska is, they're in full panic mode up there, especially so after the addition of over 100 write-in candidates.

Lisa throwing a hissy fit? It’s either deeply embedded tentacles or breaking her fingernails in a clawing attempt to avoid the inevitable.

Have you read the Supreme Court decision that just came out this evening? It seems to give the election officials even more leeway than just handing out the list of write-ins. Does Miller have poll watchers? He’s going to need them. I just spoke with an election worker at an Anchorage precinct. She’s so angry about the additional write-in candidates!

It seems like pretty much every single person in Alaska is a criminal or at least corrupt.

I would think twice about supporting Palin because of it.

I was ignoring it.

Allah’s job is to land hits for his posts.

To be honest I’m irnoring most polling on this race. I just don’t see how they can conduct an accurate poll on the status of a write in candidacy. We’re just going to have to wait and see how this turns out.

She fought her own party and threw out the corrupt, so you seriously think anyone’s going to believe your ‘hit’ on her?

me either.

These establishment RINOs are desperate, pulling out all the stops.

I really think Alaskan Voters are going to see this for what it is.

Have a nice retirement Lisa.

I don't get it, after she lost, didn't most Alaskans think it was unbecoming of her to turn around for a do-over?

I said at the time, she could get away with it because the press will support her. You would think Joe was the sore loser, the way he has been treated by the press. God help us, how many more decades will we let the liberal press run this country?

And I thought Alaskans were independent people who think for themselves.

Well, Joe has made a lot of mistakes in the campaign, I think. For example, although he accepted responsibility for his mistakes during the time he worked for the Fairbanks North Star Borough, he only did so after the Court had ruled for a release of the records. I realize it’s easy for me to say — from the sidelines — but he got flak for weeks over this and really no credit for taking responsibility. If he’d acknowledged his error at the outset, he then could have taken Murkowski on for her own “lie” — that she’d support the winner of the Republican primary.

Another example — years ago I said (and still believe) that one of my heroes — Judge Bork — lost support of the public because of his devil looking goatee. Joe’s light beard isn’t a winner. Shave it or grow one. Of course it should be totally irrelevant, but it isn’t to a lot of people.

He has taken total flak about the funding from the Outside Tea Party Express, but he never really made a point about all the money Murkowski received from Outside lobbyists, etc. And his Outside money paled in comparison to hers. But she was the one running ads about money from Outside. [I assume you know that “Outside” in Alaska is a proper noun and just means someplace out of Alaska.]

And he has faced a totally hostile press — The Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau papers all have very liberal editorial pages and news reporters. I’d be surprised if there’s a single Republican in the mix.

As I’ve written this, I realize that your message was really to the point and that it, too, points out a mistake Joe made — she should have been hammered on this issue of the do-over. Not just that she lied, but on the whole process of the do-over. (It was actually the Outside money that she had in gobs that allowed her the option of the do-over for the supreme irony.)

Nevertheless, I still think he has a chance to win. If he doesn’t win and the unlikely winner is the Democrat, then I think Murkowski may have some explaining to do. Actually, I don’t. I suspect that she will remain in Washington, DC if she doesn’t win and that will be that.

Finally, Lisa Murkowski is a very likeable person. She has a nice smile, good manners, etc. I’d guess that well over 1/3 of the adults in Alaska have probably, at a minimum, been in the same room (and I don’t mean some gigantic hall) with her. So they feel that they “know” her and people like to vote for their friends.
