Blog pimp
Blog Pimp.
From Wikipedia:
“Paranoid personality disorder is a psychiatric diagnosis characterized by paranoia and a pervasive, long-standing suspiciousness and generalized mistrust of others.
Those with the condition are hypersensitive, are easily slighted, and habitually relate to the world by vigilant scanning of the environment for clues or suggestions to validate their prejudicial ideas or biases. Paranoid individuals are eager observers. They think they are in danger and look for signs and threats of that danger, disregarding any facts. ( Waldinger, 1997). They tend to be guarded and suspicious and have quite constricted emotional lives. Their incapacity for meaningful emotional involvement and the general pattern of isolated withdrawal often lend a quality of schizoid isolation to their life experience.[1]”
It is to laugh.
Profiling! I like it! Now if only the TSA would employ your tactics. . .
Who are you talking about? Who are the screen names who are doing this? I mean your post is well thought out and well written so why not say who your suspects are then we can all be on the lookout for them.
I don’t get it either. If it is newsworthy, I enjoy the opportunity to read it. I really don’t care if you can read it somewhere else, too, without it being on the “blog.”
Hundreds of articles stream by every day. Some come up 2, 5, 10 times in a day. Click on the ones you want to read and skip the rest. No big deal.
FR has had some faddish, cliqueish folks come and go over the years. This “blog whining” is just more of the same thing.
Well, maybe it was not one of the Soros creeps, but recently I posted a pic of Cagney and the grapefruit scene from public enemy and all of a sudden a poster found it offensive and claimed I was inciting violence against women.
Now in all fairness it was on a column about Cindy McCain and the stuff about gays in the military lately. I captioned it ‘Cagneys advice to McCain’, but it was a joke, is all.
I found it kind of a left wing liberal response to my joke and was pretty surprised it happened on FR.
Good post. We had the same types around back during the California Recall...
They were Account teams.. 24 ops. nothing new.. Boilerplate materal.. coordinated drive-bys.. ridiculing conservative candidates as losers and unelectable .. fixated on advancing a progressive agenda.. which is the same as the left’s and moderates.
Probably working for Soros back then too..
Sidenote: are you sick of the Mitt ads yet? :-)
Isn’t this like a guy who owns a McDonald’s franchise complaining that all his customers say that Burger King is better so it must be a conspiracy against him?
Dude, you need thick skin here, you should have figured it out by now. You also should have figured out a long time ago that if you constantly post links back to your own site, people will take exception.
Be honest, how many articles have you linked back to your own website, 100, 500, 1,000?
You are either a master of satire, or strangely paranoid. For all I know, you may be both. Either way, I’m not one who spends much time hassling blogpimps, but you’ve convinced me that I need to do more of it. Call me what you will, but people posting on FreeRepublic just to get hits to their blogs are annoying.
A few weeks ago I noticed three people being real jerks on here. I was just doing a little poking and saw that all three had signed up in June 2010. Doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but I sure thought it was interesting.
The usual “blog pimp enforcers” are not part of a leftwing conspiracy against you, they just don't want you pimping your stupid blogs with an excerpt when you could post the entire thing.
But why go with a reasonable and simple explanation when a vast conspiracy makes you sound so much more reasonable and down to Earth! LOL!
I’ve noticed this - the blogpimp police.
Problem with your thesis, is they’re right. Why drive people off to blogs to view embedded youtube videos with no meaningful analysis? Just posting youtube links is more appropriate.
Of course, embedding the youtube video into a freerepublic post would be easiest of all - but you can’t make money off google ads that way.
By the way, I personally know several of these “Blog Police” as you like to call them and I can guarantee you they aren’t Soros’ plants. The likelihood you are is far greater than these folks.
So humblegunner signed up in 2001 - more than four years before you showed up here - just to be pre-positioned to get after you for posting excerpts instead of full articles.
Woof.
I could give a crap whether I click on a blog or the original article, site or video. I’m just glad to find it. But, your headline is over the top. Where is the proof?
There was a guy with a very respectable blog about the DOJ. He had the stories about the DOJ before they hit other conservative media. Last year he “outed” a FReeper whom he claimed was a leftist operative that was claiming to be a Conservative but in fact was working for the DOJ Russo squad monitoring Conservative sites and posting comments defending the administration. I posted the blog and a day later the DOJ bogger was finished. Site taken down. I have spoken by email with the FReeper whom frequently posts and appears to prop up the current administration (from a conservative perspective). This FReeper says he is a lawyer and I don’t know whether that had anything to do with the DOJ critic website being shut down or not. The FReeper said that he’s not who the blog claimed he was and I asked him why after the blog “outed him”, the site was shut down (and the post was scrubbed from the NET) and the FReeper said he didn’t know and had no idea why he was “outed” as a Dem-sleeper. He still posts here often, and almost always as an administration supporter, but he told me he wasn’t whom the blogger said he was. I take him at his word.
Dude, if you have no proof, your claims are just stupid and libelous....
