I don’t need to read it again.
I have asked Jim and the moderator for clarification directly.
Almost every thread posted on FR is excerpted and linked back to the originating site.
Chris IS supportive of FR. That’s the point that you ALL have missed.
The excerpting was done because of threats of law suits.

Has Chris done that? If not, why not post the content here on FR for more to see. The link to his site is fine. But why cut the content here if he is really supportive of FR?
Humblegunner certainly doesn't need me to defend him but I sure agree with his viewpoint. Blog pimping sucks traffic away from the community discussion here on FR and is simply a way for blog pimps (not all bloggers are pimps) to use the resources of FR that I and thousands of others DONATE to maintain as a business to make money. That is not appropriate use of our money or the trust the FR community has on the web.
Please reconsider your position. It is quite selfish and does not seem to be supported by the admin moderators.
I just saw this thread.
Thank you for your comments. Tons of freepers feel the exact same way you do.
Tons, I’ve gotten freepmails.
Besides, it’s part of the changing nature of media that a lot of news now emerge from blogs. Blogs are no longer just the useless (or not) musings on the issues of the day or what the blogger had for dinner, but an important means of getting news out that are ignored by the mainstream media.
Heck, FreeRepublic’s perhaps finest moment - the Rather affair - is an example of just that.
I posted a story a little while back about the UN allowing for the execution of gays in the news section. It was from a blog. But, it sure as heck was news. Blogs like “Watts up with that” publish many stories not appearing anywhere else, which are critical news regarding the global warming issue. The examples are rife.
Personally I have never had problems with the administration of this site. I post in news or blogs depending on my own editorial judgment whether the story is merely a blogger opinion/rant or a genuine news item that is unavailable elsewhere.
The blogosphere has played a critical role already in America, and is now doing a similar thing in Europe when it comes to the abuses of the EU and the islamic encroachment. Even youtube has become an important medium for distributing both news and editorial content.
Thanks for being a reasonable, intelligent freeper.
People like you are the backbone of this site.
Cheers.
