LOL, good one.
Incrementalism.
Eventually this will be expanded. DHS will expand it, so many things to blame expanding it on. One more HS problem and they will expand it. This is all planned.
Don’t let them take our guns:
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun
control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend
themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and
exterminated
China established gun control in 1935. From
1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From
1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956.
From 1975 to 1977, one million ‘educated’ people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up an d exterminated.
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
ATF to Require Multiple Sales Reports for Long Guns
Key Quotes:
"Specifically, the ATF requirement calls for firearms retailers to report multiple sales, or other dispositions, of two or more .22 caliber or larger semi-automatic rifles that are capable of accepting a detachable magazine and are purchased by the same individual within five consecutive business days."
"Todays Washington Post suggests that the reporting mandate would be limited to retailers along the Southwest border; however, the Federal Register Notice does not limit the geographic scope of the reporting requirement."
Off topic, but here's a cool picture of some old dude making a speech some time ago in Romania.
^^
That’s what we need, “Romanian Term Limits.”
I loved the look on his face when he realized how screwed he was.
Your post clarifies that the New rule WILL apply to all semi-auto 22 rimfires with a detachable magazine.
Perhaps time to explore .17 HMR’s and Tactical .20’s.
Examples are the Remington 597 and the Ruger 10/17.
The Ruger uses a Nine round magazine.
I’m not sure if the Reporting requirement applies to magazines under Ten rounds.
So far have not seen any tactical .20’s available commercially as a complete rifle.
If anyone has more info on this subject please post.
I was at the local gun shop Saturday, just looking mind you ;-), and the owner said something to the effect that Ruger 10/22s were flying off the shelves along with replacement magazines like the TI25.
He had two left. Now he has one. The wood stock carbine is, at least was, the last one he had in the store, the SS carbine with black composite stock is gone. ($220)
Many caliber names aren't quite exact. A .22 LR is .223" in diameter. A .303 British is more like .311" in diameter. Okay, I did kind of blow it because a .223 is really about .224" in diameter. 5.56mm is really .219", but the bullet is still .224", which is 5.7mm. So it gets fun when they say "larger than X." When we're talking a couple thousandths of an inch we're often getting less than the manufacturing tolerances anyway, so YMMV.
Help me out here, I'm thinking loopholes.
Problem is, you’d never win that argument.
Just the brass on a .223 weighs more than a .22 LR
And if you stood them up next to each other, and asked a jury of twelve if one is bigger, you know what they are going to say.
I mean I know what you are trying to do, but that dog don’t hunt!!
The AK-74 uses the 5.45x39, actually smaller in diameter than a .22, being exactly .220 inches, or if we read off the box, it's the same as a .22 in diameter.
Well, good luck!
When the ATF comes knockin, you can argue with them!
Actually, they won’t knock, they’ll just show up with a half dozen flash-bangs.... maybe some CS... it’ll bring tears to youe eyes thinkin about how professional they are!
When they come asking for guns I already own, the reception will NOT be as friendly as the census takers or TSA agents.
When the gov. is involved, always expect the worst.
Merry Christmas!
That’s too bad...I already had bought my rifles....but, they were lost in an unfortunate boating accident.
All firearms are already registered! Read the 68 gun control act.
