Here in Michigan I can’t count on a good crop of tomatoes from one year to the next

My solution to the Michigan tomato growing season variant is to grow twice what I need each year and can a hundred quarts.
That way I always have enough to last though a bad year or two. Some times I don't get everything quite right, this year I ran out of Habenaro puree.

Since I was old enough to read and understand a chart, the one showing the cycles of Ice Ages has worried me. We are, obviously, DUE for another one.. and, so far, they’ve NEVER FAILED to come.

In fact, we’re over-due.

Maybe, all we needed to get it started was a bunch of people crying about Global Warming?

This past summer was great for tomatoes. I tried my hand at drying them this year and it worked out great. I’m going to get around to building a large dryer by spring.

If equaling or breaking all these 50, 100, 150 year old records for cold and snow is global warming, I want someone to explain to me what forces caused those records to be set 50, 100, 150 years ago.

1. Global Warming is Bunk, Total Scam.

***
Well, as they say on college campuses, “Green is the new red”.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

2. There is an effect on weather patterns (certainly variability) during sunspot minimums and maximums.

***
Not to forget the oceans which store solar warmth for LONG periods of time and slowly release it. But hey, to an eco-warrior, facts mean nothing....only the “greater good”. In their world, whales, vulture eggs, trees and the Peruvian skunk have more value than an unborn child.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

3. The UN is ALWAYS wrong about everything. They pretend to understand things to grab power and money. Total Frauds.

***
You make it sound like it’s a bad thing? Just think of the UN as the “global Music Man”. People who couldn’t hack it in the real world muttle their way into the paper-pushing cocktail-circuit. So long as the US foots the bill it’s party time!!!

United Nations: Can’t win a war, can’t save a child, can’t defeat a dictator, but can always find the courage to berate Isreal and the US.

Remember in high school (or college) of the kids who were “smart-stupid”? Yeah, the kids (often from families of money or “intellect”) who thought everthing was solvable by committees and consensus? Where “leadership” was considered “too aggressive”. Yeah, those pukes. Well, they’re our professors, DC beaurocrats and UN brandy sniffers. When the crap hits the fan, they’re the first to come knocking the US for help.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

4. For 200 years there has been evidence of crop yields (wheat) are tied to sunspot activity.

***
What gets me is that biotech firms have genetically modified crops (GMC) which can open up new lands for agriculture. These GMC are resistant to disease, pests and harsh climates, but the UN is trying to ban such crops becasue (a) their wonks don’t like the idea of the natives being self suffucient, (b) eco-freeks don’t approve or (c) they didn’t get their “cut”.

In one central African country, the agricultural minister told the UN to go #@$* themselves. She was getting tired of a bunch of “old, white, European men, telling her country what they can and can not eat.”

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

5. We are just beginning to come out of the longest sunspot minumum in my lifetime.

***
UN Response: “blah, blah, blah....these facts are making my head hurt. It’s better just to pass treaties and increase our power.”

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

6. Reduced crop yields and cold weather could affect world grain/food prices. Spot varibilities are going to happen, they always have.

***
See my answer to question #5

Your facts are making me late for my latte conference in Zurich.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

7. Right now, the global Ag companies are taking full advantage of the situation. And with the adoption of PVPA they are contributing to the effect.

***
Not to mention “bio-termination seeds”.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

8. The Senate passed S.510 FDA Food Safety (Takeover) Bill during the Lame Duck Session. It was passed by the Senate because someone convinced them that Al-Quida intends to poison our food supply. They probably do plan that, but the dummies in DC have devised a solution that will in my opinion add 25-50 percent to the cost of food in the U.S. More paperwork, more reporting, more government control. What they need to encourage is local production. We are exposed to such attacks by produce we must import from the tropical climates and cannot be produced in the U.S.

***
UN response: Localism is so uncool. If people became more independent, they wouldn’t need us anymore. Hey, we beaurocrats are old, fat, lazy and couldn’t get a real job in the real world. Cut us some slack. I have to pay for my house in Switzerland and for that new Jaguar in the garage. Working as a Joe-six-pack-putz ain’t for me.

And you know what? Cheap immigrant labor at my plantation is getting expensive so I got to skim off the top so as to pay for my force labor.....errrr...ehhhh.......I mean, “domestic help”.

(sarcasm)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I'm growing snowmen. I harvested quite a few small ones on Thursday. Should have more on Monday.

Just to raise me up a crop of Dental Floss Raisin’ it up
Waxen it down
In a little white box
I can sell uptown
By myself I wouldn’t
Have no boss,
But I’d be raisin’ my lonely Dental Floss

Global warming is a hoax. This is why the liberal mainstream media changed the name of global warming to “climate change”. This was just an attempt by marxists/democrats to blame and so destroy capitalism for “creating” global warming. Now they blame this gulf stream bs for Europe’s little Ice Age. Yeah but what about that the United States is also freezing you marxist idiots? For decades the democrat mainstream media and marxist government funded scientists have beem saying that capitalism (industry) is destroying the Earth by causing global warming. Now we get 2 of the most severely cold winters in hundreds of years and the public and democrat sheep think nothing funny is going on and they just keep believing the media and “scientists” about hoaxes that are meant to enslave them: where is the global warming, the BP oil disaster, the swine flu pandemic, e-coli in food supply, SARS, bird flu, and all the other hoaxes the media constantly raved about? Yet people everywhere and even on this stie still believe the media. Incredible.

Last paragraph of the article:

“Special Note: Again my voice issues a strong warning and again I urge all who can to stock up on superfoods for survival do so. XXXXXXXXXX, which I use in my concentrated nutritional medicine protocols, makes the best survival food one can imagine. It has a shelf life of approximately two to three years and can provide nourishment to the whole family in the best and worst of times”

Holy hyping hysteria, Batman! He’s flogging a product.

1 or 2 degrees warmer and we have even more abundant food for the entire planet. But 1 or 2 degrees colder and much of the planet will starve.

Which would a sane person prefer?

Amazing that the EPA wants to shut down coal power plants and the EPA uses this global warming hoax to justify it’s actions.We have to fire up more coal power plants not close them down as the EPA wants to do .

I was debating some democrat idiots from Chicago.They are being brutalized by cold but they still believe in global warming. I told them : “Your city won’t be there in a few years as we are going into a little Ice age as the Sunspot pattern shows.Your media lied to you but you buy it all!” . LOL.
