Scene: Night Court, Manhattan, a date in the near future. Players: Prosecutor, Judge, and Gandler, the defendant.
Judge: Mr Prosecutor.
Prosecutor: Your honor, case 12A. The defendant, Mr Helmut Gandler, was caught giving possible offense earlier this evening, a clear violation of the Totenberg Act.
Judge: Details? And since it’s almost that time, perhaps we can cut these short. Unless we’re expecting difficulties?
Prosecutor: None that I foresee, your honor. Mr Gandler was coming out of Macy’s with an armload of parcels, and a gentleman—do we have his name? No?—at any rate, this unnamed gentleman opened the door for Mr Gandler. After exiting the store, at this point Mr Gandler very clearly used—in public—a phrase forbidden by the Totenberg Act. I can produce one Officer Lanscomb Sculpio who was witness to the events and who will tell the court that Ransom directed this phrase at the unknown gentleman.
Judge: Very well. I see, Mr Gandler, that you have chosen to represent yourself. This is never a wise course. I am perfectly willing to suspend this case until tomorrow if you choose to accept a public defender: one will be provided to you at no expense.
Gandler: What happens to me in the meantime?
Judge: You will be held in the cells until court re-convenes tomorrow.
Gandler: In that case, I choose to defend myself. I did nothing wrong.
Judge: That is not for you to decide, Mr Gandler. You have heard the charges against you. What have you to say in your defense?

I’ve gotten so tired of abnormal people who choose to be offended by Christmas that now I just tell them to move to a different country when they indicate that they are offended by the phrase “Merry Christmas.”
Why not just post it here?
How would you then get people to go to your blog????
I actually got reeled in and read the whole thing at the blog.

Glad to see Merry Christmas being said to each customer at a Dunkin Donuts yesterday.
Offensive:
A Muslim youth complains about the use of the word “ham” in Spanish...somewhere else an instrument (forget which one)
makes a noise too similar to the Muslim call to prayer, can’t have that, complaint made.
If the Muslims ran this country here is the tolerance they would show:
—Mosque: Okay
—Catholic or Prot. church, Jewish synagogue—nope, gotta go.
If you want us to tolerate your Muslim temple (other than at Ground Zero, I’d think), you must tolerate our churches.
And the crowd that screeches loudest about toleration and hate crimes does NOT tolerate “...Merry Christmas...”
I suppose he could try posting whole articles that were really interesting, so that one would be tempted to see if there was more.
But, alas, that requires real talent.

Unless you are posting material copyrighted by someone other than yourself who is on the copyright/excerpt only list (or if perhaps you intend to sue FreeRepublic for giving you free advertising space) you are perfectly capable of posting your entire article.
I have, in fact, recently posted articles from blogs that I thought had merit, in their entirety, on the blogger’s forum.
Here are your posting guidelines from someone who should know just how the blogger’s forum was intended to function.

OK, thanks. I wasn’t aware of this when I ran into the 300-word limit. I assumed that it was for all blog content. So I apologize for my misunderstanding and it won’t happen again.
But what did you think of the play?
Since you have such an amenable attitude, I went ahead and gave your blog a hit. And I read the play.
I guessed the point a (and pretty much the ending) from the excerpt you posted here. Suffice it to say that The Bard’s place in history is safe, for the moment.
As for the implicit criticism of Nina Totenberg’s reference to a “Christmas Party,” the case has been made that she was speaking sarcastically - actually ridiculing those who are so politically correct that they shun such references.
Whatever is the case, I’ll look forward to reading your other articles here on FreeRepublic.
