Worshipping the Constitution

Democrats are howling about the new Republican majority’s decision to read the Constitution in its entirety on Thursday.

You are not “free” when the collective demands of favored citizens can place unlimited demands on the fruit of your labor.

You are not “free” if your choices are meaningless.

You are not “free” if you are not allowed to dissent.

There is only one governing principle that properly respects the freedom of all citizens: ironclad obedience to a clear and concise document that identifies their inherent rights, and forbids the State from compromising them, under any circumstances. The Constitution does not “give” you those rights. It recognizes them.

You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in their struggle for independence.

That’s why “endowed by our Creator” is the CORNERSTONE of *ALL* our rights.

If you don’t believe in God, like most of the Left, then the State is its own god and can grant and rescind rights at will.

Any man or group of men that can grant or rescind rights at will, or even according to the vicissitudes of a “majority”, is TYRANNY.

That shows how much Stephen Cohen knows about the Constitution. He knows nothing about it, and cares nothing for it.

Exactamundo!

Consider the more accurate definition of today’s extreme Left:

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definitions:

Tyrant: an absolute ruler unrestrained by law or constitution

Tyrannical: being or characteristic of a tyrant or tyranny

Oppressive
1 : unreasonably burdensome or severe
2 : tyrannical
3 : overwhelming or depressing to the spirit or senses

That is why Oppressive is really the correct way of describing those people.
