What is on your Bucket List?Things to do before you die...

Posted on 02/09/2011 4:03:39 PM PST by Dubya-M-DeesWent2SyriaStupid!

I know of three people I know well that have died or will soon die of cancer.

This put my faith and my bucket list in mind.

I have many places I want to visit before I die but if I am like my friends and I get a 1 year to live acclaim I can see by them....I won't be healthy to enjoy...

An Alaskan Cruise...Inspired by visiting the CPAC page and watching Palin's show.

So I looked into Alaskan Cruises

What is your bucket list anybody ever been on an Alaskan cruise? leave Vancouver or Seattle?

Take some classes from Massad Ayoob. I have taken LFI-1 and MAG40. You won’t be disappointed.

Thanks I thought customs would be a pain in Vancouver. Are passports still needed to leave out of Seattle? I think so.. as it is a BC registered ship right? :(

My understanding is that you need a passport to leave the country or that will be the requirement soon. The cruise company will have the latest info on that.

Nah. Already peed on 3 states at one time. Peed in Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado. I have not made it to 4-corners yet, and probably won’t be able to pee there. Too many people around. But thanks for thinking of me.

I’m going to give away half my net worth to somebody. (maybe set them up in their business)
I want to pay for someone to go to college.
I want to set up a scholarship for a Phi Mu - Business Student. (my sister was one of those, she passed away, so this would be for her)
I want to give someone a house some day so they don’t have to grind for shelter.

Get my kicks on RT.66.

Since I have lived close to RT. 66 for the last 50 years I have a bit of advice. There are several guide books on how to travel the route. A lot of it does not exist anymore and so to really experience it you need to get a book.

A lot of people do not know the history of the route. It is fascinating. I recommend reading about the history as it also is a history of automobile travel in the US back in the 20's and 30's.

Another good book about a lot of the country it goes through, i.e., New Mexico, Arizona, and California is "A Tramp Across the Continent" by Charles F. Loomis. Fascinating travelogue and a fascinating character.

Have fun, time is short.

I bought 40 acres in Alaska last year. Very remote, a 100' bluff overlooking red creek with a wide open view of Mt. McKinley. The only way in is by plane to a lake which sits bordering the south side of the property (or smowmachine most of the year). It is heavily wooded with spruce, birch, pine and some hardwoods.

I hope to build a cabin out of the trees on the property and retire there. The view is breathtaking and waking to it every morning would leave me wanting for nothing.

At the intersection of the 3 states there is a survey marker. Nebraska’s is sandstone, Colorado’s is granite, and Wyoming’s is shale I believe. You gotta be fast.

Did the Alaskan cruise and it was wonderful. But my ultimate trip would be to the Holy Land and walk in Jesus’ footsteps.
