...From the hospital this morning, Jay writes in part...

Please convey my heartfelt thanks for the kind and generous support from you and the prayer warriors. Today is a better day than yesterday, though a long road to recovery remains ahead.

The doctors have advised me that my white blood cell count is down from its high of 28,000 to just over 11,000. The infected wound had to be surgically widened and drained, and I’m on vancomycin (sp?) and another high-strength IV antibiotic.

Thank you again for your generosity in spirit and brotherhood in faith. It is deeply appreciated by me and mine. Wishing all a joyful and blessed Easter.

Sincere prayers for Jay. My Dad was almost killed by MRSA last year that the hospital gave to him.....I know Jay will be healed, for my Father says ask and ye shall receive.

Amen! The same for me in Feb 2009. I liked the fact of being quarantined. I had the whole room to praise the Lord whenever. And, yeah, they came in donned w/protective clothing and witnessed it at times and told them I don't need their report - I already know the outcome. But the already 'knew' me from my stay 10 days earlier when they sent me home to die because I refused renal dialysis. Praise God and His Word - as we celebrate His Resurrection and 'By My Stripes you were healed.'

Update:  In an email, late Saturday, April 24th, Jay said in part...

I am once again deeply grateful and humbled to be lifted up in prayer by so many kind souls whom I have never met, yet with whom I share the bond of faith.  May Christ bless them all as generously as He has blessed me and mine.

It's been a hard day.  I am physically wrecked, but holding fast.  Doctors tell me that if the wound continues to heal properly and white cell counts stay in the normal range that I may be able to go home next week.

I’ll join you and others in prayer for Jay. Imagine being isolated and not able to hold your two small children. One of my sons had MRSA and was isolated. It took a while, but he was cleared an no further problem in 16 years. I pray the same result for Jay Dyson.
