No man, evidently, but Harold Camping. Over the last couple of weeks, I've had a couple of interfaces with the Harold Camping/Family Radio/End of the world crowd. They've been all over Manhattan. In Penn Station, Times Square, on 42nd Street, and even a car going around blaring trumpets. Nice enough folks, but I'm genuinely troubled that there's going to be a big letdown for some of these people come May 22nd, if Jesus hasn't arrived according to Brother Camping's schedule.
I've been a follower of bible prophecy ever since I was a kid. Growing up in a Southern Baptist congregation, we had frequent revival preachers visit us and give their take on the last days. While some of them had slightly different ideas of how it all would go down....

If I remember correctly, Jesus said, “ I come as a thief” (a.k.a. he will come as a surprise, and we just don’t have any prior knowledge about it).

Jesus does in fact say He will come as a thief — to those he comes to destroy, that is. But the Bible also says He will not come as a thief for the elect. 1 Thessalonians 5:2-6.
