Huckabee NOT Running for President
Pundit Press ^ | 5/14/11 | Aurelius

Posted on 05/14/2011 6:06:01 PM PDT by therightliveswithus

In an eight o'clock announcement on Fox News, Mike Huckabee announced that he will NOT be running for President in 2012.

Mr. Huckabee was one of the major contenders for the Republican nomination in 2008, garnering 282 delegates by the convention. The former governor of Arkansas, he now hosts a show on Fox News.

Huckabee discussed voters that will support him, how he believes that he will gain plenty of money fund-raising, and his prayer to Jesus Christ.

He also spoke of "clarity" and an "inner-peace." He stated: "I will not run for President."

I kinda thought when he pulled all his staff out of SC that was a clue. And, by the way, I think it’s quite a clue that Palin has zero staff (that I’m aware of) on the ground in OH or AZ, two rather important states. Dunno about SC or MO or FL, but it would certainly be a clue. Anyone who doesn’t have boots on the ground now-—at least in a preliminary way-—is going to be well behind.

I'm happy, I'm relieved.

The Huckster would have made a mess of the primaries.

VIDEO – Huckabee: I Will Not Seek the Republican Nomination for President

In a heartfelt announcement moments ago, Mike Huckabee said that he would not be joining the race for 2012. After deep personal reflection over the past few months, he recently realized “All the factors say go, but my heart says no.”

Sarah has already decided, she's just torturing the knuckleheads who can't figure out what "It's still too early" means. If she was not running, she'd just say so.

It is never "too early" to say "I'm not running."

It can only be "too early" to announce a run for the White House. Every time Sarah repeats "It's too early," she's actually confirming to her base, "Keep the faith, our time is coming."

Palin already has the GOP nod sewn up. Watch and see.

Unlike Myth, Jon, Newt, Tim and Mitch, Gov. Sarah Palin doesn’t need to “build” an organization. She already has tens of millions of Americans that will jump at the chance to volunteer, donate, fundraise and do all the things needed to help her win. I myself will raise $2 million dollars for her campaign. Watch and see.

Not a Huck fan here but what is the answer. If you read this thread along with many others EVERY person that is running is being shot down. Hell the demoncrats don’t have to say a word we are shooting down each person considering a run. So who it it gonna be????

C'mom, JohnD9207! I'm not a Huck fan either, but this is how FR operates.

Day in. Day out.

Ah, the old "my pol doesn't need to do what every pol in history has done" because he/she is so special. It took a remarkable organization to get Obama elected. Volunteers didn't just "come out" and "donate." They were organized by incredibly well run and staffed state and local organizations.

How about this: why don't you post 10 state Palin organizations/hqs up here so people can get involved. Give us the names of state directors. These things don't "happen." The last campaign that "happened" was Lincoln's nomination in 1860, and he had perhaps the shrewdest campaign manager in history. Money is nice, but Phil Gramm had more money than anyone else in the race back in the 1990s and he couldn't get past the first debate. Steve Forbes has more money than Palin can ever raise, and can't get to first base. But keep the delusion up that you can somehow just "turn on" a campaign (I think Fred Thompson's people were told that) and see what happens.

Huck simply read the "tea leaves". Romney would be smart draw the same conclusion. To me, this means a Palin/Cain ticket is now a possibility.

Liberal policies have aroused the private sector, economic issues will be at the forefront, and both the Drilla from Wasilla and the Godfather are strong there.

She's expressed grave concern for the price her family and especially he children will certainly have to pay for her run. She's also clear that the future of our country hangs in the balance. (SCOTUS has already given Congress unlimited powers. The states are going to have to nullify SCOTUS decisions in favor of the Constitution. This could mean a breakup of the Union. In the cause of freedom, I say, "So be it." Not sure what Palin can do about that other than nominate good justices if she gets the chance & if Congress gives her a pass.)

Nevertheless, it would be nice to see some evidence of Sarah's reconciliation of her family's pain if she runs vs. America's pain if she doesn't.

I think Trump is a Giuliani-type political shooting star already on the way down once people see what he’s really all about.

“Palin/West. Ticket made in heaven.”

That would work. In either spot. I want ruthlessly American people in this government or there will be no America. Soon.

Yep, if her doubters and detractors would bother to check her numerous support blogs and Facebook groups, then they would see it all coming together.

Sarah said that if she runs, then it would be an unconventional campaign, the likes of which no one has ever seen before. And so here it is, getting ready to go at the true grassroots level.

I don't know where you've been getting your information, but Todd and Track are pretty much ready to fight back after all the liberal attempts to destroy the Palin family. They are not shrinking violets, as you seem to suggest, but tough people who don't give up.

What I’m saying is Palin has shown real angst when it comes to her children, shrinking violets or not, becoming targets because of her political aspirations. She called out the “bully” lady to fight with her, for example, but to leave her children alone. She has not made it clear to me that she going to run. I thought she was, but now I not sure.
