Congressman Jim Clyburn: Obama's Unpopular Because Americans Are Racists
Right Across The Atlantic ^ | Michael van der Galien

Posted on 05/26/2011 6:38:21 AM PDT by Michael van der Galien

Oh, nice. You’ve got to be impressed by Democrats’ love and respect for their fellow countrymen:

House Assistant Democratic Leader Jim Clyburn, the highest-ranking African-American in Congress, on Wednesday blamed most of President Barack Obama’s political problems on racism.

When asked about Obama’s re-election prospects, the enlightened gentleman answered: “I think they’re improving every day. I think the president has been a good president, a great commander in chief.” And yeah, that’s two consecutive sentences starting with “I.” Apparently, Clyburn and Obama have more in common with each other than their membership of the Democratic Party.

In any case, Clyburn continued:

“You know, I’m 70 years old,” he said. “And I can tell you; people don’t like to deal with it, but the fact of the matter is, the president’s problems are in large measure because of the color of his skin.”

You’d think this ‘argument’ got old at the very moment Obama was elected, but apparently not. After all, the race card is simply too effective. Democrats can use it whenever convenient, especially to drum up discontent among African American voters.

He has also found a great, great example of said racism:

Clyburn described a recent racist image of Obama that received widespread news coverage.

“When he sees his face being put on a chimpanzee’s body; do you think he didn’t see that?” Clyburn said. “And I suspect they send the same faxes to his office they send to mine.”

Good point, congressman. Especially because we know that ‘liberals’ never, ever!, did the exact same thing with George W. Bush’s head, when he was still president. No?

Right, so I suppose if a white president presided over 10% unemployment, a 2 trillion dollar deficit, a 15 trillion dollar debt, and pissing on Israel, we’d just be all peachy keen?

Dear CongressCRITTER Clyburn,

Please go to the board and write 100 times:

The Obama-butt is unpopular because he is smarmy, stupid, vapid, and has NEVER done anything without help.

Wow!

Their internal poll numbers must be really bad for them to be playing the race card this early in the election cycle.

Or, maybe this is just to push the employment numbers off the headlines.

Clyburn is guilty of animal cruelty. He’s done gone and beat a horse to death.

When you encounter a contradiction, check your premise, Jimbo

Will they keep up this tiresome lie of race thing if our candidate is a PURE BLACK AMERICAN?

Clyburn is obviously a racist himself, for even bringing the subject up.

And Zero’s problems don’t stem from the Color of his skin. they stem from the socialist/Communist/anti-colonialist pollution of his mind and his antipathy toward anything even resembling American Exceptionalism.

And BTW, I’m a pretty good friend of Congressman Allen West.

Ah. How does unemployment know he's black?

Clyburn has yet to express his views on the Boeing/NLRB dispute, which threatens to cost his state some 1500 jobs..

WADR,

perhaps you need to check YOUR premise that Clyburn actually believes what he said,

and isn’t really just using the accusation of racism, like leftists always do, in order to avoid addressing real criticism of their policies and behaviors.

I know you probably already know that, but we shouldn’t answer fools according to their folly, but CALL THEM ON IT.

What Clyburn and other progressives need to realize................is that you can call me any name you want, I know my heart and it is not racist. I also know my politics and I am not afraid to call a commie a commie no matter what his skin color happens to be.

“When he sees his face being put on a chimpanzee’s body; do you think he didn’t see that?” Clyburn said.

Personally, I agree with Clyburn on this one.

There's no need to go around insulting chimpanzees.

1500 jobs is a small sacrifice in the advancement of the perfect Marxist Utopia.

Yeah, good point. We’ll invite Clyburn to a “crackers for Cain” rally.

Clyburn’s district here in SC was drawn specifically to elect a black person. It starts in the blackest sections of Charleston and goes up throught the center of the state to include all the most heavily African American town possible. It’s boundaries were set based on one thing, race. Clyburn is an affirmative action Rep. and a massive failure. SC is redrawing our congressional districts for the next election. We will get one more Rep in Washington and hopefully change Clyburn’s district enough that he will be “retired” in 2012...
