Democrats gone scared, push Ron Paul to help Obama
The US Report ^ | June 10, 2011 | Kay Day

Posted on 06/10/2011 8:45:40 PM PDT by Crush

I’m well aware of Democrats’ fondness for shenanigans in an election. I’ve studied histories and accounts of the election of John F. Kennedy. And we all remember the New Black Panthers’ strategy in Pennsylvania in 2008.

Now amid the hullabaloo over Rep. Anthony Weiner’s appendage, some Democrats have gone so scared they’ve decided to try to throw the GOP Primary.

On Facebook there’s a group page called Democrats for Ron Paul in GOP Primary 2012. There aren’t that many members—only 434 people have clicked ‘like.’ I am certain where there’s one group there’s another. Progressives are famous for group think—they’re a very easy voting bloc to manipulate for that reason.

On the Facebook page there are no administrative names. Whether this page is part of some organized effort or simply constructed by a terrified Obama fan I don’t know.

Here’s how the ‘Info’ page allegedly created by a “lifelong Democrat” explains it: “I support Barack Obama for President in 2012, just like I did in 2008. In light of the rising tide of the neo-conservative Tea Party movement and the losses by the Democratic Party in the midterm elections, however, I think it is important that progressives (while campaigning vigorously for President Obama to win the general election) do all we can to exclude the war-mongering, anti-gay, anti-civil liberty, Bush-era breed of Republicans from even having a remote chance…”

The page directs Democrats to vote for Rep. Ron Paul in the GOP Primary.

The organizer seems to forget Obama has started new wars, and you can bet your unemployment check there weren’t any weapons of mass destruction or threats to the U.S. from...

"On Facebook there’s a group page called Democrats for Ron Paul."

Can anyone explain the difference between Dennis Kucnich's positions and Ron Pauls?

This is a farce. A handful of dopes think they are going to pull an "Operation Chaos". The Rat party is already in enough chaos that these dopes should focus on instead of playing games. Ron Paul is a Libtard anyway and no one is going to vote for him.

"Where have all my fans and supporters gone?"

Not much difference on the wars... not much similarity on anything else.

Can anyone explain the difference between Dennis Kucnich's positions and Ron Pauls?

Kucinich believes that the federal government has the power to manage health care, control your guns, maintain bloated welfare programs and prevent offshore drilling. Paul would be the opposite of that. Kucinich likes big federal government, Paul likes small federal government constrained by Art. I, Sec 8. Paul would support abolishing whole departments, like the EPA. Kucinich, not so much.

And all of my Ron Paul-loving radical libertarian friends wonder why I’ve jumped ship over to Palin or some other conservative candidate...

Most aren’t. It’s just that the most have been duped into thinking Ron Paul is some kind of non-protectionist Buchananite. To be fair, Buchanan tended to back up that idea last election and I am fairly certain Ron Paul used to be a real conservative considering he was the leader of the Texas Reagan delegation in ‘76. Those conservative days have probably long since gone by-the-wayside.

Why do Dems understand the strategy of splitting the vote leading to their victory, but some conservatives don’t?

I see you pulled out all the old polyester suit pics when he liked Reagan, how about Paul's comments on Reagan in 1988 and the run for POTUS he made in protest of him? Paul is no Conservative. He was a follower of an anarchist Libertarian who said some downright crazy stuff on the order of Rev. Wright, Murry Rothbard. Look him up under wingnut.

From an LA Times interview May 10,1988.

“The American people have never reached this point of disgust with politicians before. I want to totally disassociate myself from the Reagan Administration.“

Ron Paul is a little weak weasel. If his ideas are so great, why doesn't he run as the Libertarian he is instead of using the GOP apparatus to whore his ideas?

This guy, like so many liberals, has no idea what “neo-conservative” means.

Ron Paul is a Veteran.

Find the source of your quote, I believe it's wrong.

The pictures were taken in the era when Ron Paul was standing with Reagan, while most other Republicans were standing with Ford.

Ron Paul is a true conservative.

Daniel Elsberg was a Marine Platoon Leader and Company Comander. Military service does not always mean squat.

The quote is 100% accurate. Look it up yourself. I gave you date and source. Paul began walking away from Reagan during his first term. You should educate yourself on Pauls anti Reagan run in '88. He made no bones about it. He hated Reagan. Also look into his mentor from the 80's. Murry Rothbard. Here is one of his pieces. Libertarians HATED Reagan.

Ronald Reagan: An Autopsy

Paul is NOT a Conservative. He is a Libertarian. He says so himself. Where in the Conservative tenants does it say anything about legalizing drugs?

Ending the Federal War on Drugs. Ending the DEA. Yes, those are Conservative positions. Where in the US Constitution does it say that the Federal Government has that power?

A Constitutional Amendment was needed to ban alcohol, but not drugs.

Tea Party Conservatives believe in Limited Constitutional Government.

You’re bashing the military now, sweet.

And I’m telling you your quote is wrong. Find it.

You’re bashing the military now, sweet.

Who's bashing the military. You are the one who threw it out there as an unimpeachable sign of a persons credibility and right wingedness. It is not.

If you are not going to do the basics on looking at Pauls background, you are just another zombie for Paul.

BTW, how is Trutherism a tenant of Conservatism?
