Econ/yougov presidental poll: Palin leads Romney by 6 points
econ/yougov ^ | June 15, 2011 | techno

Posted on 06/15/2011 3:23:17 PM PDT by techno

National poll of GOP presidential contenders conducted between June 11-14 of Republican voters by Econ/yougov using the interactive method of polling:

PALIN----------------20%

ROMNEY---------------14%

GIULIANI-------------11%

PERRY----------------8%

CAIN-----------------7%

GINGRICH-------------5%

BACHMANN-------------5%

PAUL-----------------5%

PAWLENTY-------------4%

SANTORUM-------------3%

HUNTSMAN-------------2%

ROEMER---------------1%

JOHNSON--------------0%

KARGER---------------0%

NO PREFERENCE--------15%

If you examine the last 7 conventional national polls of the GOP presidential contenders Cain, Bachmann and Pawlenty are all polling with Econ exactly what they averaged with them.

A part of the poll was conducted after the debate, and a person who did not attend leads the horse race.

not as far as before that's for sure. I would like to see it get down another 7pts before the general. Very doable by running a great campaign. So much for the ABPP belief that she is unelectable due to high negatives. CNN and this poll pretty much destroys that narrative. She has lower unfavs then Newt and higher favs than Mitt by a 1pt. and her High favs are 7pts higher than Mitt's showing her support more committed than Mitt's.

Very good numbers at this stage of the election cycle...

granted polls are meaningless at this stage but they do point out trends. And the polls are showing Palin numbers going up, that Palin and Mitt are consistently one and two, and her unfavs going down. the actual % or number isn’t real important.

Sarah Palin increasingly reminds me of the character “Dusty Rhodes” so brilliantly played by Andy Griffith in “A Face In The Crowd.” Sad.

The likelihood that she is getting into the R nominating race is diminishing with every passing day, but she will continue to try to stay in the spotlight. I would not be surprised if she tries a third party run just to play the spoiler role.

This poll shows Somewhat unfavorables at 12% and Don’t knows at 13%. Those are folks who can be persuaded to change their minds.

I’ll bet even some of those 40% Very unfavorables switch over as they learn the truth about Sarah via her bus tour, film, and the debunking of the LSM lies about her.

Someone needs to start the list of pundits who have at one time or another declared that Palin has zero chance.

“Sarah Palin increasingly reminds me of the character “Dusty Rhodes” so brilliantly played by Andy Griffith in “A Face In The Crowd.” Sad.”

I’ve seen that movie. The Griffith character was a drunk, a jailbird, and a disloyal womanizer. You should be ashamed.

Yes. I also think that the “very unfavorables” will have some break off too.

Why? Because for the most part, her unfavorables are based on lies and media manipulations. I believe that once she announces and starts campaigning, once the film gets some saturation and people see how much they were lied to... some will realize that the negative impression they had was based on a leftist narrative rather than truth.

I would.

But then I’m paying attention to what she’s saying and doing and not just regurgitating anti-Palin talking points.

That Bachman thingy they call a candidacy..is a Romney put-up job gambling on drawing off enough from Palin in the primaries to toss the GOP nomination his way. Won’t work

Palin officially jumping in will be the straw that breaks Mitt Phoney’s back. The huge contrast between a REAL conservative frontrunner & a RINO is what we need right now.

What on earth are you talking about? It appears that you either haven't seen A FACE IN THE CROWD ( it's on TCM tonight........I suggest that you watch it ! )in a very long time and/or don't remember it clearly at all!

"Dusty" was a poor nobody, a shiftless conman, and sexual predator who was somewhat based on Arthur Godfry. He never ran for any political office, though he did try to tell a politician how to run and FOR MONEY, pushed said pol on his T.V. show. He was a petty tyrant, who walked all over everyone and was hated by all who actually knew him. When he finally winds up alone, he goes nuts.

JUST HOW does that jibe with everything known about Sarah Palin ?

It is exceedingly doubtful that she wouldn't even contemplate going third party and has said that she wouldn't.

Your pathetic, biased ruminations are patently ridiculous; not to mention laughable.

His post wasn’t a talking point, it was so stupid that even the most liberal media would shake their head at the ignorance of the person posting that, it was like a Tourette syndrome utterance.
