Ok, just WOW, this was an excellent post. I wouldn’t have expected the outcome, but the research is great. I usually view protest of any kind as 90% sure it is leftists. Mostly the rare gun rights rally or Tea Party rally are the exceptions to my “Protesters are Lefties” rule.
Much of the ME was socialist dominated during the cold war. Egypt, Iraq, Syria and Libya were all socialist states so it makes sense that this would emerge again.

In 2002-3 there were a lot of demonstrations in the USA and Europe where communists and Jihadist came together to protest US wars in afghanistan and Iraq.
