Andrew Breitbart and ACORN critics everywhere have been vindicated yet again.

That’s because the U.S. Supreme Court denied an ACORN appeal, effectively ruling that Congress was absolutely entitled to cut off federal taxpayer funding of ACORN. Earlier today the high court denied the petition for certiorari in ACORN et al. v. United States (docket 10-1068) without comment.

I like Andrew Breitbart, hey, he was a liberal who was turned on to conservatism by Rush Limbaugh, what's not to like!

At least 54 individuals associated with ACORN have been convicted of voter fraud

Breitbart is out in front, making sure that little voter fraud happens in 2012!

Voter fraud is the only way the libs can win!

That would be (1) Slam, plus (2) Dunk.

Of course, it really shouldn’t have gotten to the point of requiring a denial of cert. by the Supremes - Congress has very wide latitude on what to spend, on whom, and when to cut it off (no Weiner jokes, please) - and were I the prevailing party, I would move immediately for sanctions against both the ACORN parties and their attorneys.

Since when does the Supreme Court decide if money is spent or not spent on anything? That is the Congress’ power not the courts.

It wasn't whether Congress could allot money to ACORN; they do have the power; SCOTUS found that ACORN was a bunch of criminals..LOL!

At least, that's my non-legal opinion!

That’s what the Court did, it left the decision by Congress to stop funding ACORN stand. They respected the division of powers. ACORN wanted the Court to say “Hey, Congress, you have to fund ACORN.” The Court said, effectively, no, that is not our job. This was a win. Let’s be happy.

Courts have ordered tax increases in several states and the legislatures have meekly gone along. Look up St. Louis and busing to see what one out of control jurist did. And the legislature just said, “Yes, sir! Three bags full, sir!”

I agree, but he did an interview recently with NRO and he called AM radio the “worst form of communication” and “tinny”.

I haven’t had time to dwelve into the context of that conversation so I might be commenting out of order.

The same thing happens regularly in New Jersey. Worse, even. The Supreme Court there actually lambasted the state’s attorneys because the state failed to push through a “millionaire’s tax”, I kid you not. And so the Court TOLD the state to send to the teachers unions (ie., the schools) the amount of money the tax was PREDICTED to bring in.

When Chris Christie shows the guts to tell the corrupt New Jersey Supreme Court to go play in the street, THEN I may view him as a serious national candidate.

Yee haaaaa!

Only Congress can approve Federal funding so how could they not have the authority to cut it off?
