YEA, idiotic. Surrender to the Marxists if you wish, your comments support or excuse exactly what they’re pushing...anti-freedom and intolerance.

Beck was only pointing out that the “compassionate”, “tolerant”, “diverse”, “peace-loving” commies you excuse, are nothing more than cowards who’s bravery comes from a bottle. Without a mob of like-minded losers to back them up, they tend to keep their mouth shut.

How about the personal responsibility in staying low key in public when you know you are vehemently disliked and you have your daughter with you? I am surprised the level of nonsense stayed with a thrown glass of wine. I have seen two guys in suits get into a fist fight over who’s taxi cab it was in NYC.

Equating the sensible nature the majority of folks have out here in the sticks with the loud, rude and animalistic nature of New Yorkers is silly.

“I wish there were a video.”

Where was Superman Breitbart when you really need him?

No one is excusing anything. He knew where he was and what he was doing. He stated numerous times on his show that his daughter at Columbia hide who her father was because of this type of reaction in NYC. I would rather have all the Marxist corralled in NYC and SF than dispersed all over the country.

How was he not low key? What did he do that provoked the reaction? Or do believe he should not go out to public events?

It was a public, city sponsored outdoor movie event. Nothing political, it was a family event. He didn’t hand out literature, discuss politics,, religion, Or any public figures. He sat on a blanket. What happened is the responsibility of whoever was out of line, which was not him.

Good point about bringing his daughter. Either he was incredibly naive as to the likely reaction, or he used his daughter as a prop.

Yea, he knew where he was. He’s in AMERICA....not Zimbabwe. We all should be able to travel freely without fear of threats and harrassment. Just because we disagree with a bunch of leeches and moochers is no reason for poor behavior and assault to be excused or tolerated.

Are you sure you believe in freedom?

Ummm.... There's "freedom". And then, there's "stupidity".

Glenn is free to do what he wants... but, I think he was taking a rather huge risk with his own personal safety, and that of his family.

Maybe, he thought the presence of his family would protect him. He was wrong. And, lucky.. that worse didn't happen. Liberals are scum. In packs, they're dangerous. Celebrities have to know and understand the risks they are taking with such a decision.

In a fair and just world, you would be right. This is NYC. Have you been to the city lately? It ain't Topeka KS.

Yeah. How idealistic. There is a term that fits here. Street Wise. You folks think this is just a bunch of regular people sitting in the park on a summer day. I have $100 that said the place wreaked of patchouli and dope. I have been to things like this up there. Events like this attract Code Pink, Che loving debris.

Detroit is in America. Would you load up the family and head there after dark? How about the Folsom Street Fair in SF? The term Street Wise comes to mind.

You chose two places I have never and would never live (nor visit) and have limited or no knowlege of. Michigan is a reciprocity state, so it would be more likely I'd visit there than anywhere only criminals are allowed to defend themselves.

Beck lives in NYC and should be able to travel freely just as anyone else who lives there. That said, LIEberals won't do more than run their mouths or something cowardly they could get away with. His bodyguards would thin out the LIEberal sheep post haste.

Bryant Park is a not over-large park backing up to the big public library, the one with the two famous lions in front, near 42nd Street in midtown. I don’t know the attraction for Glenn Beck and family - there would have to be nicer places to see an outdoor movie for those that don’t actually live in the city, but good for him doing what he wants, where he wants.

The crowd’s behavior is disgusting though - he shouldn’t have to be on guard himself, let alone for his wife and family, from head-cases with unreasoning issues about his politics. Way to ensure his children are introduced early to the entirely rational contempt reasonable people have for leftists, goons. Chances are as good as not the offenders were from out of town, drawn here by what they think is the communist free-for-all experience of a lifetime, that in reality lasts just a few years before they move on elsewhere.

Actually, I do dream of doing it.

I just wouldn't actually do it.

What happened to New York's open container law? Why is it okay to sip wine in the park, but you'll get arrested if you drink beer at the beach?

BEER VS WINE

Was this event and location in NYC not a safe place to be? Is it known for crime and muggings at these events. Are you saying that it is unsafe for people to go to watch movies at this summer NYC event?

My first job was at that public library - an awesome place to visit, if you haven't already. I always enjoyed Bryant Park - it's a great place to have lunch if you work in the area. It was originally a potter's field.

I love that library as well - it’s one of the few quiet places here, and no other I can think of is as grand - that reading room is someplace anyone visiting should see. Not a lending library, nicely old-fashioned: so many books have been written or researched there. The park behind it has changed a lot over these past few years - I had no idea it was like Washington Square Park and used to be a potter’s field. You really do learn something new every day I guess.
