Romney has every right to run. HOW are you going to get him out. The more conservatives that get in, the worse the problem will be.

If the other liberal democrat communist loving Romney wins the GOP primary, I vote third party as I am a Christian and a conservative and despise evil liberals of all sorts and parties.

Get a life, Russ baby!

The Democrats picked our candidate over a year ago. They’re scared to death of Gov.Sarah Palin.

She’s the one. You just watch.

[Former democratic campaign manager for Al Gore’s Texas campaign Rick Perry is as big a RINO as you will find anywhere.]

So true. He also supports sanctuary cities and managed to kill the TSA anti rape vote in the state congress. He is just another rino Bush.

I reject you personal goal of supporting socialists if they are members of the right party.

I spent the bulk of my adult life in the military.
I do not meekly bow to the advancement of progressives in the manner you propose.

If your thought had merit the Whigs would never have been replaced by Republicans and indeed the British would never have been thrown out by force of arms.

If you are not ready to support candidates other than Republicans to secure our freedoms YET, then I am happy to watch the demon rats take everything you have to change your priorities.

I voted Keyes in 2008 since Hunter dropped out - although I did vote for Bush in 2004 since the democrats ran Hanoi John Kerry.

A president who won't seal the border brings blame against his entire party when war comes, so no Romney and no Perry. That is a major factor in my decision making and just because you utterly and completely lack the acumen to evaluate the importance of that has no bearing on its relevance.

Of more immediate concern for conservatives and the Tea Party is to ensure that they have an overwhelming presence at the Republican National Convention in August of 2012. ESPECIALLY in the rules committee that meets before the convention and determines its agenda. This will be “sink or swim” time for the Tea Party.

The current chairman of the Republican party is Reince Priebus, importantly, from Wisconsin. This means that he saw the bitter hatred directed at the governor and Republican legislature, as well as the Union and Democrat dirty tricks. Hopefully, this has persuaded him that RINO entreaties for cooperation with Democrats are disastrous.

But don’t bet on it. The remaining RINOs are as determined as ever to take away conservative victories, even if it means that Democrats win. They will try and foist some worthless candidate like Bob Dole or John McCain on the party, and will cheat just as much as Democrats to make that happen. And they are used to winning against conservatives.

Once and for all, it is the REPUBLICAN Party, not the Conservative Party.

And it can be the Whig party as well.

Thanks RussP. I was going to be a big stinker and post pics of Romney and Paul (idea running mates), but I'll leave that to someone else.

The GOP does not want it fixed for obvious reasons. They might end up with an actual conservative candidate.

Once and for all, it is the REPUBLICAN Party, not the Conservative Party. What part of that simple concept do you not understand?

freerepublic is a CONSERVATIVE site, not a Republican site, of course we want only conservatives to win the nomination.

I think we can skip voting for the moderate/RINO in November 2012, and clear the path for Barack Hussein Obama. 4 more years of Zero should convince even the teacher’s union member educated public school system grads that socialism never works. Unfortunately the country will be so deep in recession by then that it will take decades to dig our way out of it.

But most of the time the only thing which works is real honest to goodness hardship before the dumbed down population learns. So please stay home if Romney/Perry/Huntsman/Gingrich gets the nomination, and help Zero get 4 more years. he desperately needs more time on golf courses. His golf game sucks.

Romney? Perry? Huntsman?

They are RINOs.

Like MILLIONS of conservatives,
I would vote for Obama before them;
and write in Gov. Palin, first.

It will be too late by then. Neither the RNC nor the Convention rules or credentials committee has any discretion at this point regarding accreditation or first ballot procedures. The time for change on that front passed nearly a year ago, when final rules were adopted.

At the state level, it is theoretically possible for the Republican Party organization in states with open primary laws to institute caucuses for delegate selection, either canceling the primary or reducing it to a beauty contest. States with winner-take-all primaries or caucuses could shift to a proportional allocation, which would tend to mute the many-conservatives one-moderate issue that people seem to fear. Would have to start today, of course, with slim odds of success in many places.

"Also - there ARE other RINOs too, Pawlenty, Gingrich...Huntsman...why aren’t they splitting Romney votes?"

No mystery here. Romney has more name recognition, a more extensive national campaign organization and FAR more money.

It’ll be worse than that. By that time, the Supreme Court will be stacked against the Constitution. Then what will we do?
