I am a conservative, and a strong supporter of our Constitution. I do not believe that our Constitution needs to be re-written, I believe it needs to be followed, especially on the Federal level, which, I believe, has grown far beyond its Constitutional mandate.
In my mind, Herman Cain, represents America’s best chance of moving the Federal Government back toward the limits set for it by our Constitution. From everything that I can learn, Mr. Cain has proven that he has a deep love for America, the highest possible regard for its founding documents, and a deep respect for, and confidence in, the American people.
Mr’ Cain is not a politician. He is a businessman and a problem solver. I believe that his successful 40 year career has prepared him to take on the many problems in Washington and in our federal bureaucracy. Herman Cain is fond of saying, “I’m not going to Washington to learn how it works, it doesn’t work! I’m going to Washington to change the way Washington works.”
For too long now, America has been moving toward ever larger bureaucracies, ever more intrusive government involvement into the lives of American citizens, and ever larger levels of debt. Not since Ronald Reagan has that course been even temporarily reversed, and, as I am sure that many would agree, the situation in America is fast becoming critical.
I believe that Herman Cain can help America to change course like no other on the conservative political horizon.
We desperately need a Herman Cain in the White House, and that is why I support him.

I agree with your choice of Herman Cain. Sara Palin would make a great VP.
Regarding the constitution - we don’t need to rewrite it but we do need to clarify certain aspects by going back to the language of the time, defining what they meant in 1776 and putting it in terms we can understand “Clearly” in 2011.
We need to eliminate the legalese language that lawyers use today and put it in clear and concise English that can not be twisted and manipulated to mean something other than what was intended.

rewrite the constitution to read something like this.
1. Thou shall have no other gods in My presence...”
2. Do not make any idols or desecrate any images of God regardless of whom ever’s God that may be.
3. “Do not swear falsely under oath
4. “Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy”
5. “Honor your father and your mother...etc,”
6. “Do not murder”
7. “Do not commit adultery.”
8. “Do not steal.”
9. “Do not bear false witness against your neighbor”
10. “Do not covet your neighbor’s wife”
These powers we grant, and nothing more. (see: 9th and 10th Amendments).
The Constitution is based on the ten commandments

also places constraints on the government.
The Constitution was written to constrain a Government (authority) empowered by the consent of individuals, to act as laws for the behaviour of the Government.
They are different in focus, although the ideas in secular law are based on Judeo-Christian morality and philosophy.
At the same time, however, I would note that the Constitution places restraint on Government from establishing a religion (a State Religion of any sect, Christian or otherwise), which ultimately frees government from manipulation directly by the clergy, any clergy.
Government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed, who are granted their Rights and such power as they have by God.
Thus, so long as we have a moral and just people, we will have a moral and just government, for the people will stand for nothing less. It is their duty to revoke their consent--forcibly, if necessary, if the government will not act (only) within its constraints.
The founders said as much.
Government, however, has no sacred duties, being bound by secular law and the individual oaths of its officers to uphold that law, and not the laws of any church or religion.
That the laws of the land often coincide with those in the Decalogue indicate the moral foundings of those who structured our government, and remain there as a legacy, palimpset by the (often extra-constitutional) babblings of secular humanism which has largely replaced Judeo-Christian morality in our culture.

Yes, we Cain!
Herman Cain has impressive leadership ability and experience.
In the campaign arena, he steps beyond the politically-correct platforms of career-politicians, stating his concerns and "common-sense solutions" in a way that powerfully resonates with American conservatives across the nation.
I genuinely like him. I trust him. I believe in his ability to address the multiple crises within our ailing and beloved America.
Listening to his dynamic speeches intensifies my belief that we will indeed rescue this nation from the jaws of its foreign and domestic enemies.
