Bill Maher To Piers Morgan: Palin Can ‘Absolutely’ Win In 2012, But He’d Vote For Bachmann
Mediaite ^ | July 11, 2011 | Frances Martel

Bill Maher braved an hour with Piers Morgan tonight, fielding tough political questions that as host he can usually manage to avoid– questions like “who have you voted for?” and “is America less racist today?” He fielded them happily, though one appeared to give him a headache to think about: “if someone put a gun to your head, would you vote for Rep. Michele Bachmann or Sarah Palin?”

Morgan began the segment on that note, and while Maher emphasized that the choice was purely artificial and, in any real setting, impossible, he finally fessed up to preferring Rep. Bachmann. “At least she’s somebody who can read, she has a job, she was a lawyer, she’s in Congress,” he explained. “She’s not just someone who sits there and reads the prayers on her Blackberry.” That said, Maher noted that it was “absolutely” possible for either to win, and reverted to Ronald Reagan as proof of that. “The Bedtime for Bonzo guy?” he joked, noting that Rep. Bachmann and Palin had the advantage of entering the race “in a bad economy with a black president.” Morgan pushed him on that last comment, and Maher replied that he saw the country today as being “more sneakily racist,” but he respected the “old-school racists” more for being straightforward.

Morgan and Maher also had an extensive conversation on President George W. Bush (who Maher described as “my uncle who molested me and I blocked him out of my memory”) and President Barack Obama, who he painted in a light far more commonly used to refer to Bush: “he’s a president you can relate to– he’s intelligent.” That said, Maher was disappointed in Obama for his “centrist” policies and for “constantly voicing the Republican opinion.” “Democrats get in and we don’t attempt Democratic policies,” he argued, ultimately refusing any political title other than “practical” when asked on that front– “I hate stupidity and I hate stuff that doesn’t work.”

What an ass. Someone needs to tape this guy's mouth shut. Nothing worthwhile EVER comes out of it. Take that sentence for example. He's correct, historically moronic, and racist, all in one sentence.

They’re delusional. They act like they know what they’re talking about when they haven’t really been paying attention at all.

I had a conversation with a Dim couple once while at a restaurant. They commented on how the menu listed the calories, sodium, etc. for each entree. I told them they could thank the Democrats in Sacramento for trying to mother everybody. They insisted I was wrong and that it was always the Republicans that are trying to control how people live. I was just stunned. There should be a basic political history test before people are allowed to vote. Votes should be weighted 100%, 90%, 80%, etc. depending on how many random questions they get correct.

“...and I hate stuff that doesn’t work.”

Then he should have a frontal lobotomy.

I only see Maher as a pathetic no-talent whiner. Nothing I would ever hear from that schlub would ring as truth. Just the way it is. Who even gives Maher airtime today?

Hmmn Bill, is that why you only beat up your black girlfriends when no one is looking?

I am truly amazed at how much attention that POS Maher receives... it`s exponentially more than he deserves. He`s nothing more than a failed comedian who should be relegated to the trivia zone.

And yet another LSM endorsement of Bachmann! Wake up people! Chris Matthews, Charles Krauthammer, Andrea Mitchell, the fellow here that calls himself RINOs suck, and now Bill Maher.

Did I mention the entire MSNBC/CNN networks as well

It`s just unfortunate that Bachmann does not have better judgment. Her first big lack of judgment was deciding to run for President with Gov Palin in the wings.

Does she have the right to run? Absolutely! But in the end it was poor judgment.

Then she hired Rollins and showed her true character. Also she showed her true character by shouting from the roof tops about her charitable giving. Our charity is supposed to be in secret. On top of that it really looks as if she has stretched the truth at the very least in regards to “raising” 23 foster children

He’d vote for Bachmann? What an effin’ liar. I’m sure Piers lapped it up, too.

Don Rickles was the master of it, but he didn't make it personal or political.

And though his humor was always pointed, I never got the impression that Don Rickles was trying to be mean or ugly in any way to the targets of his barbs.

That's always been my take on him as well.
