America needs a conservative stronger than Rick Perry

By Julio Severo

Strong conservatism is in the roots of America. Her founders were the Pilgrims: Evangelicals with strong moral and biblical values.

Yet, today, America has in her presidency a man that is an inversion of her original values. And, not surprisingly, America is in powerful moral, spiritual and financial troubles.

Notwithstanding her deep financial crisis, America under Barack Obama is determined to keep investing in abortion, not only in America, but worldwide. There has been little protection for the America society against this crisis, which has hit American families hard. But abortion investments have been under powerful protection by the US government. Child-killing is top priority in US politics.

NSSM 200, a 1974 White House classified population-control document (declassified in 1989), gave the US a central and secret role of promoting worldwide abortion and contraception. No nation on the earth, not even the Soviet Union, has fought so much against the unborn worldwide as America has.

Whatever was her calling in her founding, involving stalwart Christians like the Pilgrims, since NSSM 200 America has acquired another calling: making the worldwide killing of the unborn and contraception as normal as apple-pie.

It has worked. Decades after NSSM 200, the Soviet Union has fallen, but abortion imperialism has been advancing, regardless of crisis and opposition, with incredible US protection and impetus.

Perhaps there may also be some secret pro-sodomy NSSM 200, because no nation on the earth has promoted sodomy worldwide more than America has. Sodomy is top priority in US politics. No crisis has kept America from being committed to her filthy calling — a calling that would have distressed the Pilgrims. If they had foreseen America in the future, they might just have changed their minds and returned to England.

Obama is not a president who “changed” America. Wholeheartedly committed to the unborn-killing and sodomy values he has kept America right on her NSSM 200 tracks.

America has invested billions in spreading the contagion of abortion and sodomy — her own society and the whole world. No crisis, financial or otherwise, diverts her from her filthy calling.

For those agreeing with the Pilgrims, America needs a president as strong in righteousness as Obama is strong in wickedness.

In my view, Rick Perry is unable to fulfill this role. He has supported Al Gore in the past. He signed into law an anti-“homophobia” bill in Texas. And he has decreed compulsory Gardasil vaccination for girls in schools. Gardasil is intended to fight HPV, a condition common in sexually promiscuous people. So Perry has treated all Texan girls as potentially promiscuous, giving their parents no choice to avoid this tyrannical decision made under the pretext of health. This attitude was worthy of a liberal Democrat.

Oh, some might say that Perry is now a “changed” man. I have posted on my Portuguese blog some of his recent antiabortion initiatives. But in Brazil, when a candidate does a lot of “good” things in an electoral season, his interest is to conquer voters.

Yet, his real conservatism showed up when New York passed same-sex “marriage”. Perry said, “It is fine for them”.

No, it is not fine for anyone if another state or nation passes abortion, sodomy and other evils. If a nation chooses them, it is bad and it should be publicly chastised. Such is the appropriate attitude of a real conservative. And, as Christians, if we are unable to lead people to Christ because of their stubborn refusal, at least we are called to warn them about the destructive ways threatening their lives and families.

If some politicians manage to pass same-sex “marriage” in Texas, would it be “fine” to Perry? If so, as a president it would be just bad if he saw it as “fine”.

US abortion and sodomy politics, which have wrought untold havoc around the world, have been promoted by US presidents of enormous immoral fiber, especially Obama. To counter such massive attacks against families, nations and their moral sovereignty takes men of enormous moral fiber.

I do not know what America can do to counter the child-killing and sodomy mire she has gotten herself and the world into. But certainly she needs a conservative stronger than Rick Perry.

Uh huh...

And who might that magic person be?

They have to be conservative enough, and they have to be able to beat the stuffing out of not only Obama but the radical left Dems.

Both.

There is not a one of the announced or the unannounced that approaches perfection. Let’s move off the perfect, and let’s go with the “good enough” if the good enough can sweep to a resounding victory.

Fine, Julio, and how do you proposed to get one elected? We need a lot of things, but the electorate is so morally corrupted, uneducated (not a reference to schooling), and uninformed there is no prospect of electing a candidate and a Congress that would be able to do what is necessary to fix what is wrong at the public policy level.

Even on this site you will see that lots of people don’t want to give up the unconstitutional wealth transfer programs they benefit from.

I didn’t marry the prom queen or Miss America but I am very happy with the woman I got. Rick Perry isn’t perfect or ideal but he’s good enough for me and we need someone who can beat the commie SOB who’s in there now while there is still a republic to save.

I agree, except on the point about a resounding victory. The country's not conservative enough for that anymore. Presidential election victories by GOPers are going to be close contests.

Perry is a governor who happens to espouse Christianity.

This piece reasons that Governor Perry - in the name of his religious beliefs - should have warned the people of NY not to do that evil thing called same sex marriage.

???

The writer goes on to ask whether Perry would be ok with same sex marriage being passed in TX.

What??

That’s the whole point of Perry’s statement regarding the 10th Amendment giving one state the right to do something another state utterly rejects. Texas rejects same sex marriage, as does Perry personally, which both have made crystal clear.

The writer is confused

I credit the sincerity that comes across to me from the piece, but not only that point but some others are seriously flawed - both factually and logically.

Well the Gore "issue" is just silly.

Perry signed a hate crimes bill, not an "anti homophobia" bill, in the aftermath of the Byrd dragging killing. I don't agree with hate crimes laws but in light of that horrible race based murder I can easily see any of the other candidates doing the same thing. Regarding Gardisil, well he just blew it and has admitted same. Reagan blew it with amnesty and admitted later it was a mistake, after public outcry.

With respect to gay marriage he originally believed it should be up to the states (federalism) but now wants a constitutional amendment banning it. Do we know how the others have stood, and stand today, on this issue?

The author bashes Perry but does not propose an alternative that has a proven RECORD of being better than Perry. Again, the Perry basher wants to pull people away from the Perry wagon but does not give them a direction to go. This tactic makes no sense and is obviously not working given that Perry is rocketing ahead in the polls.

We really long for the Reagan phenomenon. I wonder if it can ever be done again or even approximated?

I'm not certain that his comments on New York's law make him not conservative enough, there is a decent argument for states' rights there. I might have been happier if he had said the concept shouldn't be entertained by any state, but it's not a deal killer for me.

However, I have huge reservations about his pandering to the open borders/amnesty crowd. His record in the illegal immigration department is not good, his pandering to La Raza is more than unfortunate.

I don't want another open borders squish like W. If Perry fits that mold, we shouldn't support him.

So Rick Perry is not "conservative enough". Hey, is Attila the Hun available to run? Somebody get him on the line. If we keep trying to find a VIABLE candidate who's conservative enough, we're going to wind up with 4 more years of the current disaster residing in the WH.

They said that in Reagan’s time, too.

We need Democrats and the dreaded moderates to turn out for our nominee.
A drawing of people to the candidate from across all but the far left spectrum, and those Blacks that are determined for Obama, no matter what.

Reagan did that when few thought it possible even back then.

Of all the candidates, Perry might be the one who could come closest to doing that.

Gotta have a big win, bring along the Senate and strongly hold the House.

Gotta prove that the people are demanding the opposite of the Obama/Reid/Pelosi Dems.

If Perry isn’t the nominee, I’ll happily vote for several of the others.

But the candidate I prefer is the one that can come closest to doing what Reagan did.

I like Cain too and have always thought it a big setback for all of us that he lost the US Senate primary a few years ago. I know he would have won the general election and done us proud with conservative votes in the Senate.

And by now, he’d also have gotten some polish (he has made a few gaffes) and foreign-policy chops (he understandably isn’t John Bolton quite yet).

As it is, he’s being put down as “just a businessman,” whereas business savvy is just what DC is lacking.

Pandering to illegals is my main problem with Perry, along with the nanny state aspects of the Gardasil debacle.

I will be able to muster a small amount of enthusiasm if he promises there will be NO AMNESTY. If not, I’ll be able to hold my nose and vote for him, and at least he’s better than Romney. If he chooses a leftist VP, all bets are off. I’ll never vote for any ticket with Romney or Giuliani on it.
