The 2012 Presidential election is a little bit more than a year away and a string of Republicans have thrown their name into the mix for the party nomination and the chance to challenge President Barack Obama in his re-election campaign.
Texas Governor Rick Perry, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, businessman/politician Herman Cain, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, Minnesota State Representative Michelle Bachman, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, and Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, and Ron Paul, just to name a few.
This week's Bank of Sheridan/sheridanmedia.com Poll Question is, Who's your pick for the Republican nomination for President in 2012?
Let us know what you think, go online and feel free to post appropriate comments. Then, be sure to tune into our Jackson Electric Open Line at 9:10 am this Friday on 930 KROE.
Three term Governor Rick Perry.
So illegal immigration isn’t one of your “hot buttons” I assume.
It definitely is at the top of my list. I also think it’s tough being the governor of a border state, particularly one which does a lot of international trade. It’s the feds who should be securing the border. I think Perry sees the error of his ways and is making an honest attempt to correct his past mistakes. People do learn and grow. I think he knows where conservatives are on the immigration issue and will be on our team. We do know he loves and served his country, he values life and will protect the second amendment. Those are the big hot button issues for me.
The first one to come out with a plan with a stated goal in the unemployment rate before the first mid-term. No one so far has manned up.
I like Perry/ Bachmann a lot but although I really like John Bolton, he doesn't have enough experience on the domestic and economic side of things that the other two do. Sorry, I don't think Bolton can solve our fiscal crisis like Perry and or Bachmann.
Being won over to Herman Cain. : )
The threat to the USA sovereignty comes from globalists, neocons, war profiteers and nation builders.
I’ll not ever vote again for a globalist or one pushing immigration, illegal and otherwise. That leaves out Perry for sure. Loss of our sovereignty is the ultimate loss of America.
Ron Paul looks as good as any of them and better than most.
You had me until you said Wrong Paul....
Perry/Palin 58%
I started out favoring Palin. Then she said that Perry was a good choice (or something to that effect). Now the whole country is buzzing about Perry. I may be a conspiracist but somehow I get the feeling we’re being told by the media to vote for Perry.
If Perry is as good as we’re told (and it’s the media telling us) he might be a good choice. OTOH, if we’re being “gamed” by that self-same media I’d have to wonder why.
I think I’m going to stay in Sarah’s corner awhile... at least until she makes some sort of announcement.
Palin/Perry 58%
:)
I do not believe that Palin will be on the ticket. But I wish she would be.
