I have yet to see an actual quote from him. But, yes, if he is saying it and it is untrue (which I pray) he should be sued

That's the thing: Rice didn't make any such statements.

You'd have to read the book to find out exactly how this lie is framed, and of course neither of us are going to do that.

Fortunately the NYT already took that bullet for us: it seems that McGinnis reported his own salacious questions, not Rice's answers.

Example: imagine that I asked Palin's father "what it's like to catch your daughter shoplifting?". And then I reported the question - not the answer - in my trashy book.

Liberalism is more toxic and hateful than we can imagine.

That's it liberals. Piss Todd off. Real smart if you want Sarah Palin to disappear.

They compliment each other so well; as the Lord intended. Unlike the current occupants of the White House. W and Laura also complimented each other.

McGinniss is under pressure to come up with something. Think of it—McGinnis goes to whatever kinds of locations he likes to frequent, and those of his kind are there waiting for him, saying “Well, what did you come up with after all that time living next to Sarah Palin?”

Imagine what it must feel like to have nothing. Sort of like the leftists who got Palin’s emails released.

But McGinnis is one guy. He can’t run away.

So he makes up this kind of thing. In his mind he’s got nothing to lose—certainly not credibility.

Unfortunately, this controversy is going to guarantee McGinniss makes the best seller list (temporarily) and a lot of money.

These type of ‘authors’ couldn’t care less if he is hated and despised, he’ll laugh all the way to the bank.

Despicable human garbage.

I really wish the Palin’s would sue over this. A line needs to be drawn. I mean, they should go out and get the most powerful Law firm in the Nation, and sue this guy, and the publishers, and those blogs who reported it as factual, and the papers who ran it as unchecked truth, into a bankruptcy so hard and deep, their next 4 generations will will owe the Palins. They would have a huge amount of support.

This was done with planned malice, and these kinda things don’t happen without support and complicity from others.

“Fortunately for the Palin’s the book is going to have the exact opposite effect McGinniss wanted. That level of sleaze makes people run the other way.”

That is true of decent folk. They won’t really give this serious consideration. However, there are Palin haters in the Democratic field (and some GOP sadly) that will take this trash and run with it. It will be a cloud hanging over her head. I don’t think it will keep anyone inclined to vote for her from doing so, but it could affect the weak minded.

It will be curious how different “pundits” and the candidates respond to this stuff. Honestly, the best thing Palin supporters can do is ignore it...don’t give the slease stream media any opportunity to run with this.

Joy Behar and people like her, Bill Maher, etc. will have this author on their shows and will discuss the book as if everything in it is true. CNN, MSNBC, maybe even Dan Rather will come out of retirement to conduct an interview with this guy on 60 minutes.

And the beat goes on........

He doesn’t need to say it bluntly, or spell it out clearly. It’s reasonable to infer that he is stating it as truth. That’s liable.

This guy is a terrorist and, if a crosshair on an political ad is likely to get a U.S. Representative shot, so, too, are his words and the repeat of repeated lies by the media, individuals, and blogosphere.

The Palin’s should seek a court order of restraint, and sue the dog pizz out of all of them. This crap has to stop!

There is a University of Michgan sports blog where a member posted the Glenn Rice/Palin story yesterday. This sports blog is championed by Jonathan Chait who the blog founder loves, yes that Jonathan Chait, flaming lib.

Very quickly, the blog moderator locked the thread up, realizing how stupid and unsubstantiated the allegations were.

It's amazing to me how some people here at FR were all over this story yesterday, concocting reasons this crap might be true. It was one of the most despicable episodes in FR history, allowing those comments. If a liberal sports blog gets it, the NYT gets it, yet we allowed some of our PDSers to go all full bore with their disgusting comments, we have a huge problem here at FR.

I saw Mr. Palin up close in Iowa a few weeks ago. He appears to be a nice gentlemen and by all accounts, a great guy to have a few beers with, but very protective of his wife and family. He’s not a big buff guy, but you can tell he’s tough.

I’d want him on my side in a fight.

Hey, a guy who'd subject his own chilluns to such abusive language and death threats (even the ones he makes up on his own) would probably attack the President's chilluns.

Definitely need to report this puke.
