Aah, the fangirls are still at it.

The problem for Perry is that to use his voice he has to open his mouth and when he does, he sticks both feet in (cowboy boots and all).

After the next debate St. Rick will be polling below Santorum.

Limbaugh’s on in about an hour and a half and he’ll have plenty of excuses for Perry

[In-state tuition for illegals ought to cause immediate lawsuit for out-of-state legal kids to get the same tuition]

They do if they have lived in the state for a year. The illegal residency requirement is 3 years, graduate from a TX high school, and be working toward US citizenship. I think this is why the law stand ups to legal challenges under federal law. No benefit is offered to the illegals that is not offered to all US citizens.

We have in-state tution for illegals in KS. I did not support the law.

Sorry, but you, your candidate, and the Perry Apologist who wrote this article lack principles on this issue.

You don’t make it easier to stay in this country if the person is here illegally.

And most important, the children of illegal immigrants are the responsibility of the Illegal Alien, not the State and not the citizens of that State.

By pushing this emotional crap of a position on this issue, Perry, and his supporters have taken up the Progressive Idea that it is somehow the State’s responsibility, and by extension, it’s citizens to take care of the children of somebody else when they are perfectly able to take up that responsibility themselves.

Take the “We are the world” mentality somewhere else.

Rick Santorum said something similar to Perry. Perry lost me on that.

“He’s from a huge border state. Perry has boots on the ground, and doing what he can to keep illegals out.”

Jan Brewer and Susana Martinez are border state governors working to keep illegals out; Rick Perry (aka George W. Bush, Jr.) is not.

We are talking about high school graduates who have been in TX for 3 years and who are working towards citizenship.

I don’t support in-state tuition for illegals. We have it in KS. I do, however, understand why TX would. I think it is a state issue (that should resonate with Romney and his supporters—Romneycare anyone). This is not an issue that would make or break my support for Perry though. He wants the border secured.

Well, I for one will wear the mantle of “heartless” proudly if that’s the way Perry wants to frame his muddled, speech-impaired, argument. He can take his illegal loving RINO garbage and head on back to ol’ Texas. I won’t miss him a bit.

Is it too much to ask that our politicians put America’s citizens first? Why give rights to those who broke our laws? Is this what is now fashionable, and breaking the law(s) of our nation is a requirement to obtain citizenship and rights? If this is the way it is forever and forward in America and the way thing are going to be ... why should I or any other law-abiding citizen bother with saving this Republic for future generations? Future generations will say I was wrong for allowing this abomination. Once there was a fact of The Rule of Law being obeyed predominately within this nation, now The Rule of Law and our Constitution is shredded everyday by the ruling elite and becoming a memory. While not wanting to walk away from our nation under siege, I truly have to wonder is fighting for and trying to Preserve, Protect, and Defend this current set of circumstances being thrust upon all the law-abiding worth the effort where the lawless are looked upon with favor while the law-abiding are asked to pay for another’s lawlessness. Our ruling elite have given their answer. What will be America’s answer?

OK, we're talking about legal adults.

BTW what does 'working towards citizenship' mean?

Are there any sources that show Texans opposed this when it was passed and that they oppose it now?

Who proposed the bill?

Well said. I agree completely. I don’t want Perry or anyone in the White House who thinks illegal immigration should be subsidized and who favors illegals over American citizens.

Perry comes from a conservative border state, and has a border state mentality. Romney comes from Sodom Massachusetts, and has a eastern, liberal state mentality.
If it comes down to the two candidates, I choose the conservative border state mentality.

The Texas Dream Act is not the same as the rejected Federal Dream Act proposed by the U.S. Senate because that federal legislation in totality and reality was an immigration bill.

By that logic RomneyCare is not the same as ObamaCare, but Perry says it is. How convenient for him.

Ricardo Perry is proving himself to be the same brand of folksy, twangy, Bible-carrying "Compassionate Conservative" statist Texan as his predecessor Jorge Bush was. Praise the Lord and pass the Amnesty!

As the spouse of a LEGAL immigrant abiding by America's laws, as I was/did in her country for many years, Ricardo Perry can K.M.A.!!

how do illegal aliens work towards US citizenship? it’s simply not possible, if you are working towards citizenship that implies you are following the law and therefore you are a legal alien. I think perry is obfuscating like all rino/dems do

When I consider that educating the illegal’s children will help our society, it makes sense. As long as we do away with college studies that promote these educated Latinos to go back and organize their people against the current government.

Romney really ticks me off when he stands there like a preening peacock and ridicules Perry for telling the truth about social security. Really! As Gore said “what shud be dowan is uuup and what shud be uuuup is dowaaann!
