Here’s the dire future of this episode. Mexico will eventually put together the evidence and prosecute at least a dozen US officials. They will ask the US government to turn these guys over. The President will have to stand there and figure out some method to get the guys out of trouble or hand them over.
If I were at any point in this group of people who controlled the plan....I’d be packing and finding a remote cabin in Idaho to hide out for ten years. You don’t want your country to hand you over, and face possibly twenty years in a Mexican prison.
