If they are building a bomb (which is debatable), it's because they are scared shirtless -- they are completely surrounded by us and our allies.

I've been railing against the dangers of Islam for 20 years, so you don't have to tell me how nuts they can be -- I've been to the ME twice. But Muslims are primarily a danger as a neighbor, not halfway around the world -- unless you abuse them.

My own dog who I trust with my 3 yr old nephew -- if you were to starve him, corner him and continually threaten him with harm -- even he would turn into Cujo over time. How much truer is that of Iranian Muslims who start out a little paranoid and crazy to begin with?

But attacking Iran would make us LESS safe over here -- there are already hundreds of thousands of Iranians here in the US. That's one cage you really don't want to rattle.

Look, the man wants to cut 1 trillion in government spending before our country completely collapses. Flailing your arms around, bringing up the Iranians here has little to do with anything.

I made no comment about Obama or other Republicans. My problem with Paul was specific pursuant to my question to him. We cannot allow the crazy people in Iran to have a nuclear weapon. Imadinnerjacket is waiting for the 12th Imam and vows to wipe Israel off the map. I believe him. It’s quite beyond our capabilities to truly understand it, but they don’t care if they die. That is what makes them particularly dangerous.

The Iranian nuke will not kill us. That is not my fear. My fear is Israel being forced to unleash Armageddon if attacked or afraid of imminent attack. It is a small country surrounded by enemies who will do anything to kill the country. If a nuke is ever launched in the Middle East, the flow of oil will come to a halt and God help us all for being so dependent on them for our energy. There is your starvation scenario. No, the Iranians are not stupid -— just suicidal. They don’t care. Their culture celebrates the deaths of their own children if they blow themselves up killing Jews. Israel would destory Iran in a nuclear or conventional armed conflict, they are a democratic (somewhat) capitalist society and thus have a strong military. Israel doesn’t need our help or support to take on Iran and Iran, having a mind of self preservation, doubt would risk any sort of open war.

The radical Muslim leadership of Iran does not care about self-preservation. That is the problem. Ron Paul has indicated that it is none of our business if Iran has a nuke. I want a Reagan as commander in chief, not a Paul. If Israel is left to defend itself, it may be forced to use a nuke to defend itself. If so, there goes Middle East oil. No one will save the economy at that point.

We can respectfully disagree and we won’t change each others mind. That’s okay.

People do tend to resurrect their mythology when they are most challenged and scared.

And to be frank, although I am a Christian, I also worry about the fervor of many Evangelical Christians on the ME hitting head on with Shi'ite Mahdi thinking. This 1-2 punch makes Armageddon more, not less, likely.

I've known Israelis for most of my life. One of my old friends was a Colonel in the Israeli Army during the 6 Day War.

Israelis are an admirably tough breed of people and extremely resourceful when left to their own devices. Israelis are fully capable of taking care of themselves and their country -- if we would only get the heck out of the way. Problem is that Washington wants to use Israel as a pawn on the ME chessboard and run the ME by remote control. That's not good for Israel -- or us. It just increases the Muslim hatred for Jews, and vice/versa.
