When I saw Herman Cain’s interview with Wolf Blitzer yesterday afternoon, this immediately jumped out at me:

He says he supports the 2nd amendment; now he just has to figure out what the 2nd amendment says, and what it means to “support” it.

Having a little trouble keeping on-topic there, hey? I know it’s really hard to talk about what Cain actually says, but you should try it rather than always trying to hijack threads to attack other candidates.
Only one way to keep a firearm out of the hands of say, a child molester or wife beater.
Gingrich blocked repeal of the Launtenburg Amendment and didn’t fight the AWB vigorously.

So, you are saying that he doesn’t support the 2nd amendment as it is written. I’m not trying to argue, just want to know your justification. As a voter, I sincerely need to know.
Cain reads it the same way SCOTUS Justices Thomas, Scalia and Alito read it, the States have authority to enact reasonable resrtrictions on firearms like permits to carry or discharging in public. This is the Conservative position. If you believe the states do not have such authority, you are far outside of mainstream conservative thinking, more in the realm of libertarians or anarchists.

Is this a game to you? Maybe YOU can show us where in the 2nd amendment it says anything about defending yourself.
If not, I suggest you pay attention to the TOPIC OF THE THREAD, and try to deal with the words your candidate ACTUALLY said.
It seems you really don’t want to talk about what Cain says, and would rather hijack threads with off-topic comments. Or make idle threats about trying to get the freeper who posted the article banned.
I know, it’s really hard to talk about what Cain says. First, you have to make excuses for how he’s really inexperienced and just learning the ropes, but that if you find quotes from later on, when his staff explained it all to him, he’s much better.
Then you have to wait for Cain to clarify his remarks 2 or three times, so you know what he’s ACTUALLY going to settle with (a few supporters got really screwed when they jumped the gun and talked about how great it would be to have a killer border fence, only to have Cain “clarify” the next day that it was a joke.
And sometimes, even with the clarifications you can’t figure out what he was actually saying. So obviously it’s just easier to attack other candidates in the vain hope that once they are all dead, people will HAVE to support your candidate even though he’s an inexperienced amateur with no applicable executive or legislative experience.
