But he was the Commander of US Marines in WWI. One of the few times that has occurred.

Marines were 'under' MacArthur in WW2 and Korea. Marines were under Schwarzkopf in the Gulf War. What is rarer (?) is when the situation gets reversed -- when a Marine officer has army units serving under him. But now that Marine generals are getting into the rotation as joint commanders it will no longer be as novel as it once was.

I remember the Pershing Rifles performing at LSU when I was there eons ago. I never knew what that was all about. This is a story I never get tired of hearing. Even his name “Black Jack” would not be allowed today much less his fighting style. He would be one of those who Henry V would have unleashed, “The Dogs of War”.

"I’m reminded of how after we dispatched Osama bin Laden....we gave him a Muslim funeral—as if he had been an honorable opponent.

Bizarre. "

No! not bizarre - Obozo! Try convincing me that he does not adhere to Muslim thought: he was raised by a Muslim, 'educated' in a Muslim school in a Muslim country for some of his formative years.

My goodness. They don’t teach that at the war college. Fight to win or get out.

You know, this is really why I wanted to post this, to paint the contrast What a difference in attitude... unreal.

Obama wouldn’t even let Seal Team 6 have fighter escort on the Bin Laden raid, he didn’t want to offend the Pakistanis! And for what, they hate us anyway.

The SEALS also were forced to take older “Stealth Hawk” copters instead of the top secret, state of the art “Ghost Hawk”... because with no fighter escort, it was too risky to put our most sacred advanced tech within the reach of Pakistan, and thus China.

Obama risked lives for no reason, as Pakistan has already sunk below ‘frenemy’ to us now.
