Gyration Air Mouse and keyboard. 100 foot range. RF, so no line-of-sight required. Mouse can also be used as a pointer. Have had one for six years and it's been perfect.

SMK-Link and IOGear are the more reliable, the SMK-Link combos can cost upwards of $200, but I’ve never seen one fail, advertised as 100foot radius line of sight. Rii makes a cool mini keyboard with trackpad, never used the 2.4 Ghz but have used the RF model with a Blackberry.

Look for “2.4 GHz wireless connection” , that is generally advertised as 100ft line of sight.

The stuff advertised as 30ft line of sight usually only works reliably up to 15ft line of sight, as you’ve found out.

Using Logitech typing these very words, which I got on sale at Best Buy for $24. Outstanding battery life. Wireless keyboards eat batteries for lunch.

Logitech is about to release the “cube” an $80 reinventing of the “mouse” for presentations. look it up on tech sites or private mail me and I’ll find the few pre-reviews I’ve seen. You’ll need to re think how to use a “mouse” but it looks promising. Any RF or bluetooth keyboard should work, do you want size, portability, survivability. I have an old bt keyboard for a blackbery that works great for a computer. thus the issue is, do the keys need to be back lit ect.

I have had it for about 6 months now no issues. When I purchased it it was 30 bucks(They have since raised the price on amazon) but check around, prices fluctuate week by week
