Of course Herman Cain would rush to the defense of Newt Gingrich in light of an interview by Gingrichs ex-wife, who claims he wanted their marriage to be an open relationship.
Cain himself was the subject of allegations from four separate women that he engaged in sexual misconduct with them, thus leading him to suspend his own presidential campaign in December.
I loved Newt Gingrichs response because thats the same crap that they pulled on me, and thats whats wrong with politics, Cain told Fox News on Friday morning. He was commenting on the fiery response Gingrich gave to CNNs John King during Thursdays Republican debate when King asked about Gingrichs ex-wifes claim.

It is shameful that not one shred of physical evidence can destroy politicians.
Yeah, but you folded. Wimp.
Hermann -
If you had responded the way Newt responded, then you’d be the frontrunner.
I believe the allegations against you are false. But if you can’t handle the press, then you can’t handle the POTUS.
I’m still a fan though.
looking back in it... ABC did Gingrich a favor by moving the interview release up, after it’s existance was exposed by Drudge. It would have been far worse if they had just let people imagine what was in the interview.
“Yeah, but you folded. Wimp.”
Someone correct me if I am wrong. I believe I heard or read that his wife has a pacemaker and he truly quit because of the accusations affecting her health.
Yup, plus no opportunity to turn it around into standing ovations just prior to the sc primary. ABC really pooched it good, they know it and they are in severe pain over it......:)
“Hermann - If you had responded the way Newt responded, then youd be the frontrunner.”
No, I hate to say it (being such a Cain supporter that he stays in my tag line), but Cain wasn’t up on current events to the level he needed to be, to be running for Prez. He didn’t have to be a genius like Newt, but some of the stuff that he wasn’t aware of, and some of his cryptic statements (as in borders and abortion) were making it tough for us.
But some of his other stuff was outstanding, like electric border fences, and not having any Muzzies in his cabinet.
Cain simply wussed out and allowed the MSM to own him rather than pulling a Newt and firing back. Quit your whining Cain cause’ you had your chance..
It gave Newt the perfect opportunity to take what could have been a huge negative and turn it around to his favor.
The media thought this would destroy Newt, they misunderestimated him.
Newt: 1 Media: 0
As I said when I still supported Cain.
“First they came for Cain, and I did nothing because I didn’t support Cain....”
Yes, but a president, or a CEO doesn’t need to know everything. They need a good basic knowledge base, to select staff with expertise in each area and the wisdom to know when to follow their advice.
Herman coulda been one of the best presidents in history (and might yet, 2016 isn’t that far away)...
Herman Cain would be a nice addition to a Gingrich administration position (Department of Commerce, if it’s not eliminated).
Or, in other words, “I miss the media attention! Look at me! Look at me!”
I know what you meant, but it could be read both ways. I the case of Obama and Clinton, "not one shred of physical evidence can destroy them". I don't know if you intended it, but it was a masterful double entendre!
“Same crap” Yes but you Mr. Cain turned and put your tail between your legs and ran. As did Sarah Palin. Newt has showed how this treatment by the press can be handled, if you have the courage to do it. GO NEWT !
There's another saying that comes to mind - God helps those who help themselves.
It would be interesting to go back and see which FReepers were happily swinging the club right along with the media.
