Of course Herman Cain would rush to the defense of Newt Gingrich in light of an interview by Gingrichs ex-wife, who claims he wanted their marriage to be an open relationship.
Cain himself was the subject of allegations from four separate women that he engaged in sexual misconduct with them, thus leading him to suspend his own presidential campaign in December.
I loved Newt Gingrichs response because thats the same crap that they pulled on me, and thats whats wrong with politics, Cain told Fox News on Friday morning. He was commenting on the fiery response Gingrich gave to CNNs John King during Thursdays Republican debate when King asked about Gingrichs ex-wifes claim.

I would love to see Herman oversee the shutting down of several agencies.
Herman Cain for VP?
“Some Freepers judged Cain by the media.” Most of us stood by hime and still do.
God save the Republic!
I watched the debate, and Cain was clueless on a couple of occasions, stumbling and bumbling rolling his eyes and rubbing his chin, but rather than make it a Perry moment, Newt swooped in to save his opponent.
Great post!
I cannot believe the vitriolic attacks on Cain, Gingrich, and even Palin from some Freepers.
But now I remember. Even Reagan, in the primaries, had attackers materializing like Jason’s army from the ranks of the Republicans.
you older Freepers will remember.
So-called conservatives, who should have saved their venom for Carter, were attacking Reagan.
It is repeated (apocryphal or true) that someone came to Lincoln with the criticism of Grant that he was an excessive drinker. Lincoln’s response: “Find out what brand he drinks. and send a case to all my generals.”
Herman Cain is damaged goods, forget about him. Allen West would make a much better VP and future President. Marco Rubio already declined but there are others.
I know that Condi Rice is a Bush fan but I think she would make a great VP. One reason is she would help Newt carry the Bushie fans and she is highly thought of by most conservatives
Cain often deployed the same tactic of expressing idignation - of course his way of deploying it, e.g. "excuse me ... EXCUSE ME ...". Cain's problem is that he had five or more women involved including one he paid off. There was just too much smoke and a strong possibility that he was lying about all of it. The statements by his lawyer were not that convincing. So I am glad we have Newt up there instead of Herman Cain who is a much more effective candidate.
I maintain some slight hope that what she is doing is part of a great plan that remains to unfold. But I get the bad feeling that she did exactly what Herman Cain did for the exact same reason. Whatever I think of Newt, I’m glad to see him fighting this and not backing down. That is the only way we can stop the MSM’s destruction of our candidates. We gotta have their back, but we also gotta have a candidate who won’t cave in to it. GO NEWT!
Perry ran a dignified campaign. He left with dignity. I know that Gingrich won’t forget that. Cain on the other hand accused Perry of being behind the sexual allegations. He made that accusation without and proof. Not sure how many others were blamed too but it wasnt JUST the msm that Herman blamed. He did not exit the campaign with grace.
I love Condi Rice and I am still a Bush fan because they truly are good people. However 8-years of Bush was enough for me. They could have done much more but played too nice and almost blew it. Furthermore Condi is not a conservative and in my opinion was too soft on foreign policy matters.
Bush fans will vote for Newt over Obama regardless. Any republican who votes for Obama over another republican is simply an idiot.
Why were 3 women paid off then, Herman? 2 by the Restaurant Assoc, and 1 by you personally?
I am sorry to say this but now I see Herman Cain as a joke. Just go away. Please.
Condi is so anti the race card. As Sec of State she had little power and had to follow Bush policy. VP has little power other than tie breakers in the senate. She would make a great vp imo.
She even warned Cain about playing the race card. She is the ideal vp candidate.
I respect your opinion but I have to disagree.
There are a lot of people sympathetic to Herman who still don't get his relationship with Ginger.
Agree on Cain. He shot himself in the foot.
Reddon, Palin didn't do what Cain did. She never entered the race at all, there is a big difference in entering and dropping out and not entering. Palin's family didn't want her to run, they had had enough of the BS the media was dishing out. Also, she has a very young baby to think about, one that is very vulnerable to stupid attacks and one that has already been the victim of such attacks. Sarah doesn't "have a plan", nor does she need one, other than supporting conservatives in the races.
She has nothing to be ashamed of nor does she owe you, or any other voter, anything. She paid her dues, too bad there are such ignorant boobs as you on FR who still try to smear her.
In Cain's defense he had just gotten to the point where he knew he couldn't win, why continue?
before Reagon got to the WH he was the governor of a state with one of the largest economies in the world and was a proven leader. Perry was not too far behind him in that regard.
