If Romney wins Tuesday and garners the nomination, should the Tea Party field a candidate?

It's looking more and more like the RINO, country club, elitist attacks on Newt Gingrich are having their intended effect and that Mitt Romney will win in Florida and possibly take the Republican nomination. I don't know about you, but I'm up to **here** with the "lesser of two evils" nonsense and I very much doubt that Mitt will choose Sarah Palin or someone like her as his VP.

What to do, then? I'm open to any and all suggestions.

What the Romneybots don’t realize is that if he is the nominee, his current love affair with the media comes to a screeching halt. The MSM is in the tank for Obama and is saving the anti Romney powder dry til he is the nominee. Then there will be so much anti-Romney stuff out, Mitt won’t know what h it him.

There might as well be a well vetted third party conservative candidate, since Romney will hand Obama a victory anyway. At least then conservatives could vote FOR someone rather than have to hold their noses and vote for Romney or not vote at all.

A lot of us see your same view and agree with you, but Santorum is much too full of himself and too selfish to “fold up his tent” in order to stop Romney, while he still thinks he’s in the race to stop both Romney and Gingrich.

THAT fanciful thinking alone should give serious pause to his supporters.

It is way to early for Mitt’s coronation.
This process has opened my eyes, little by little. I, too, am sick of the “lesser of two evils” method of voting.
I am beginning to understand it is like asking “do you want to die quickly from a shot in the head, or slowly, from drinking poison?”
If the elites do manage to steal the nomination for Romney, from we, the people, I’m not falling for it this time.

She has already had her husband endorse Newt, and then she followed with an endorsement for him in South Carolina and she is making clear to the world who she supports.

Quitting her opinion shaping media job just to make it more formal, would be strange and bizarre.

Yeah! Bless his heart, Romney knows nothing - much like Sergeant Shultz!

Were it not for Blitzer coming back with the proof, Romney would have gotten away with another LIE.

I regret that Newt Gingrich didn’t call on Rubio to formally ask Romney to remove that smearing-lying radio ad from the Latino radio air waves!

Santorum used up his lucky shot when he won his first election in PA. It was about as close to a political miracle as anything you’ll likely see anytime soon. He is trying to the exact same thing again and it isn’t working. If the lightning strikes him again, it is more likely to electrocute him than elect him.

Palin saying that she would have voted for Newt in SC was pretty close. Do you really think she would be asked by a host if she was endorsing if she were prohibited by contract for doing so? I don’t.

Onyx, that is so good to hear.
With almost the entire GOP establishment turning on Newt and viciously attacking him (yes, that means you, Matt Drudge, Ann Coulter, Bob Tyrrell, Krauthammer, etc it has been like allout nuclear war to protect their guy, Romney.
Please keep us posted from your contacts on ground in Florida.

Exactly! As I’ve said in previous posts: quick death by a shot in the head or slow death by poison- same end result.

LOLOLOL. Is that right? He was sure handed his head in his last election when he lost to Bob Casey by 17, 18 or 19 points!

He won in Iowa because Romney and Paul’s attack ads on Gingrich worked. Iowa’s Evangelicals fell for the attack ads and that endorsement for Santorum helped him in the closing days. Romney is evil, just like obama. It’s all about them, not our country. Lust for power, both are corrupt.

Close enough but it didn’t step over the line. Have you heard people ask Hannity who he endorses? Yes, they have. He can’t say either. Nor can rove, Greta, or anyone else...because then they are advocating for a candidate and by extension, FOX would be advocating for that candidate if they allowed such a thing.
ASKING is a lot different than answering.

The GOP has been on life support for quite a while. They are sending in Romney, to deal the coup de grace, the final death blow.

It’s high time that conservatives and like minded tea party patriots moved on from the Republican party. It should be obvious to all that the solutions to reining in big government lies outside the established political parties.

--------------------------

I AGREE WITH THAT

I've said this for 15+ years. Too many RINOs in the system. Forget it. It's time for a third party.

Otherwise the country's never coming back.

Everyday is Christmas for these politicians.

They'll never rock to boat... it'll always be business as usual.

Sadly, I have to admit you’re right. The status quo has been pretty good for Rush. Listening to him today, I realized he doesn’t see the big picture at all. Even Rush has gone over to the dark side.

I can see where a “contributor” might not want to come out and endorse a primary candidate. But what do you think will happen after the GOP candidate has been selected? Do you think Sarah will endorse then?...or will she be prohibited from doing it then, as well?
